I'm super excited to share that Body of Water is going to be a part of the film festival at @kendalmountainfestival this year with showings in the water collection on Saturday Nov 22nd at 930am at The Box at Kendal College and Sunday Nov 23rd at 2pm at Brewery Arts in the studio. It's also been shortlisted for the @teambmc women in adventure film competition which will be showing all the shortlisted films and announcing the winners on Friday Nov 21st at 945am at Brewery Arts in Screen One. I've attended KMF for years so this feels pretty surreal. I'm looking forward to it being shared with a wider audience (and also petrified/shy). Swimming saved my life in so many ways and maybe it'll resonate with someone else too. Forever thankful to the team for making this film which remains so dear to my heart, genuinely in awe of all your talent! And it's super special to have been the subject matter for @lilybrown____ 's directorial debut. Lily and I will be bopping around the festival so come find us to say hi next month!

Over lunch on our last day we chatted about wild swimming and how it has positively affected my mental health. We talked a bit about a film idea, later pitched it and then a few months later in September we finally got to shoot in the highlands over some of the sunniest and hottest days I’ve experienced up North. Getting back into swimming is one of the best things to have ever happened to me. I’m forever grateful for my fellow cold water swimmers and for our warm community. Lots of love to Lily for wanting to tell this story especially as her directorial debut, to Youswim for making it happen & to everyone else who worked on the film. Extra love to Lily, Max & Kieran for being a dream team to work with and for making being in front of the camera for a change so easy. Post 1 / 2 Folk - John Lewis Feb 2020, one of the last travel jobs for a while that year… And what a good one, A mix of digital and film. A bag full of 16mm and the trusty Bolex, And some Canon FDs to go with the digital, perfect little combo for an on the fly run and gun road trip shoot. Lots of laughing with top notch Cathal breakfasts to make the sunrises more exciting. Lots of Bee keeper bothering was done, some of the most beautiful apiary sites I’ve seen were up in the Andalusian mountains. Essentially the approach was to buy a motorbike and genuinely have fun with it and sometimes capture it.
