History Made, Legacy Built
Watching the next generation of @fetu_samoa_official players rise and seeing Samoa🇼🇸back on the @rugbyleagueworldcup stage, fills me with so much pride. I wanted to take a moment to wish them well, but also to share a story that many might not know, one that sits close to my heart, especially now that my son has had the honour of representing Samoa through the Junior Toa U21s @toa_samoa_official

Fetu in 2018, we made history
We became the very first Samoan🇼🇸team, in either code Union or League to make a Grand Final and stand on a podium. A Silver Medal🥈for our small island🌴I am endlessly proud of these incredible women who made that moment real.

We legit did it with very little. So much has changed since but I think island time is still a real thang🤭

The Pacific🥥players in your teams are the beating heart@of your competition. We bring a style of play that cannot be coached, that you want to watch on repeat that raw brutality, that instinctive skill, that ⚡️ when you let us loose. But that flame, as bright as it burns, can sometimes be cut short before it ever reaches its full potential. That potential, though, It is immense.

To every man and woman fighting for the Pacific to have more opportunity, fighting for us to simply be treated fairly, fighting to see us showcased on the global stage, please do not give up.

I know the battle you are facing. I have lived it. But united 🫱🏻‍🫲🏾we can give the next generation more reasons to proudly represent their heritage nations, create more compelling competitions, honour the great teams who paved the way and build a legacy worth inheriting.

My prayer is to one day see more matches for our Pacific & Tier 2/3 nations 🇼🇸🇨🇰🇹🇴🇫🇯🇵🇬🇱🇧competing at the highest levels across both codes, to battle the Tier 1 nations. To see their greatness celebrated on and off the field. To see opportunities open up, so they can give back to the communities that built them.

But first, we do the work. No handouts. Just straight hard bakkaa💪Good luck to all this week 🇼🇸 🏉
