My second year of curating the lecture series for #Architecture MArch (Part II) 2025/26 Design Realisation (Technology) module as co-coordinator. Deepest gratitude to the outstanding guest speakers for their generosity and expertise in structures, environmental, construction, facade, prototyping, enterprise, engagement, sustainability, materiality, retrofit, heritage, biodiversity, landscape, infrastructure, enterprise, public engagement, fire & life safe design, and much much more.

Shout out to all Year 4 cohort for turning up in full force and having the most interesting dialogues with our guest speakers, and feeding the knowledge into their coursework and design projects. Super to see old students and meet ones in seminars and reviews to discuss ideas and technical applications in their building design.

Launched in early 2024, UCL’s CAVE laboratory (Controlled Active Ventilation Environment) was the first facility of its kind designed to research climate and airborne hazards.

We enjoyed working on marketing assets for this groundbreaking site. Part of the project involved the creation of a detailed research poster which demonstrates some of the pressures that can affect our wellbeing in our urban environments – created in collaboration with illustrator @clairescully.

Meet Professor Nick Tyler in the UCL Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering (@cege_ucl). He is the Director of PEARL (Person-Environment-Activity-Research Laboratory) and has dedicated his career at UCL to a radical idea: that we should design our world around how humans actually feel, move, and sense.

At PEARL’s massive 40,000 m³ facility, Professor Tyler and his team recreate entire city streets - complete with controlled light, sound, and smell - to test everything from new transport systems to how those living with dementia navigate the world. 🧠✨
Because a city that doesn’t listen to its people is just noise.

Here, research makes an impact.
