Earlier this week, Hello2Hired brought together Caymanian job seekers and employers for an evening of networking, on-the-spot interviews, and career support. Premier Hon. André Ebanks and Minister for Caymanian Employment & Immigration, Hon. Michael Myles, engaged directly with job seekers, employers, and participating organisations throughout the evening.

The Ministry of Caymanian Employment & Immigration looks forward to building on this and other employment-focused initiatives that help Caymanians access opportunities and connect with meaningful employment.

CONNECTING WITH THE TEAM | LEADING THROUGH COLLABORATION

It has been a privilege to serve as Acting Minister for Caymanian Employment & Immigration and work alongside the dedicated teams across the Ministry.

A key priority has been engaging directly with staff who deliver these essential services. My recent visit to the Department of Labour & Pensions (DLP) provided another valuable opportunity to listen, learn, and connect.

Accompanied by Chief Officer Wesley Howell and CHRM Briana Ebanks, I met with the Department’s Senior Management Team, including Director Bennard Ebanks and his leadership team, and toured the Department to meet staff and better understand their important day-to-day work.

These engagements continue to reinforce the importance of strong, collaborative leadership—listening to our teams, understanding challenges, and working together on solutions.

Across the Ministry, important legislative and policy changes are moving toward implementation, strengthening our employment, immigration, and pension systems and improving services for Caymanians, businesses, and residents.

I extend my thanks to Chief Officer Howell, departmental leadership, staff, and all stakeholders for their professionalism and commitment.

While this role is part of a transition, the work underway is focused on delivering lasting improvements for the people of the Cayman Islands. I also extend my appreciation to Minister Hon. Michael Myles @michaelmyles.prospect for the trust he has put in me to lead the Ministry during his much needed break.

Leadership is strongest when we listen, collaborate, and move forward together.

I am sharing my experience because I believe accountability, transparency, and fair treatment matter.

The financial impact was significant.

The professional impact was significant.

But the human impact has been far greater.

Every day since has been spent navigating the consequences, rebuilding a career, and fighting to regain stability.

This is not a story about revenge.

It is a story about accountability.

And it is a story that deserves to be told.

If you’ve ever had to rebuild your life after circumstances beyond your control, I’d love to hear your story in the comments below.

I have retained extensive documentation, timelines, correspondence, and records relating to the events described.
