Tanya Leighton and White Space are delighted to present a joint open studio with Shen Han (@shenhan_studio) and Ce Jian (@cejiance) during @berlinartweek. Public reception Friday, 11 September 6–9 pm The studio will also be open by appointment, 9–13 September. Kurfürstenstraße 15/16, 10785 Berlin First courtyard, right-hand entrance Shen Han’s work blends fragmented landscapes, abstract forms, and intuitive gestures, evoking a delicate interplay between memory, emotion, and perception. Working on unprimed canvases, he explores the relationship between instinct, body, and material, allowing his gestures to guide the creation of fluid, dreamlike pictorial planes. His technique connects abstract shapes, broken lines, and saturated colours with the subconscious, inviting viewers to navigate the ambiguous tension between form and formlessness. Ce JIAN’s practice examines the visual systems that shape perception, balancing conceptual frameworks with the material unpredictability of painting. In recent years, she has developed a speculative vision of nature at the intersection of history and futurism, mythology and science, biology and robotics. Her semi-abstract non-human figures merge organic and technological forms into transformable bodies, creating fictive realities that are both analytical and materially grounded. #shenhan #cejian #berlinartweek #whitespace #tanyaleighton

[Western - 서양] Peggy Kuiper @peggy_kuiper (Cover) Hilda Palafox @poni Adrian Ghenie Peter Saul @peter.saul.official Youssra Raouchi @youssra.raouchi Lewis Hammond @lewislhammond Alex Carver @alex_h_carver Guillaume Devarud @guillaumedenervaud Mamma Andersson Brilant Milazimi @brilant.milazimi Moyna Flannigan @moynaflannigan Marc Desgrandchamps Lari Pittman Alice Shintani @aliceshintani Farida El Gazzar @farida_el_gazzar Rasha Omar @rasha.omar Jaider Esbell @jaider_esabell Ce Jian @cejiance Paola Angelini @paola_angelini_ Marinella Senatore @marinellasenatore_

• YUKI OKUMURA @juki_ocumla Zenbei’s Eyeballs (Telescope ver.), 2012 HD-Video, 22 min. EN Yuki Okumura’s video work brings two characters of the same name into an unexpected dialogue: on the one hand, the figure Zenbei from a Japanese folk tale, whose eyes emerge from their sockets to roam the sky and reveal a hidden inner world. The other is the historical Zenbei Iwahashi, an 18th-century optician in Osaka, famous for his handmade telescopes. The result is a multi-layered interplay between myth and science, fiction and historical reality. We're pleased to share the upcoming group exhibition Displaced Becoming at Kunstpunkt Berlin @kunstpunktberlin 🌊 📍 Kunstpunkt Berlin
Schlegelstr. 6, 10115 Berlin 🗓 Opening: Thu, 7 August 2025 | 7–10 PM
📅 Exhibition: 8–24 August 2025 | Thu–Sun, 3–7 PM Displaced Becoming brings together nine Berlin-based artists of Asian heritage whose practices examine displacement not merely as physical relocation, but as an existential and cultural condition shaped by ongoing movement across borders, languages, and media. Framing dislocation as both material and method, the artists approach it as a generative site of negotiation and transformation. Through themes such as migration, hybridity, nature and supernature, and memory culture, the exhibition explores how states of in-betweenness can catalyze artistic expression. Opening during Berlin’s summer season and presented in cooperation with Kunstpunkt, Displaced Becoming offers a space of encounter and welcome—a gathering of diverse artistic voices shaped by displacement, diasporic memory, and the continual process of becoming. 🎨 Artists:
