“Estrella” is finally out! 🌠 I’m very grateful to have been apart of the FRIEZE 2025 fellowship and giving me this opportunity to tell a story like this! The story follows a weary character named Luz trying to figure out where they “fit in” in this world; maybe they have to travel across the galaxy to find out. I had the amazing opportunity to work with an amazing cast and crew on this short that really brought the vision I had one night, staring at my fairy lights, alive! I wouldn’t trade it for the world, they all have my heart. This was my first time working with an animator and @celazste knocked it out of the park. Celeste was truly my other half in this project and I’m especially thankful for them for even saying yes to my initial pitch phone call (slide 12 🤭). My initial ideas that then became our ideas that flourished through animation was so special to me, we have to do it again soon hm? This story was formed from the many years of my own contemplation of figuring out who I am and who I am meant to be. The stories I love that are told through animation have so far been the closest, so why not pay homage to my love of animation and cartoons? 🏳️‍⚧️🌌 ————————————————————- Cast Luz: @royal_limes Mom: @yanin.lozanguiano Cosmos: @jamesecallaghan Crew Director/Writer: 🙇🏻 Producer: @sophiamsjoy DP: @ohheymynameisgavinandimakefilm Animator/Animation Lead: @celazste Art Director: @dilg.aye Editor/Script Supervisor: @eeyyinnnn Assistant Director: @katerina.kiagia 1st AC: @karlvdia 2nd AC: @aannddrreessb G&E: @jackv4light Gaffer: @off.ghani Best boy grip: @lil_spank2.0 Best boy electric: @antonio.amaya_ Sound Op: @tiredeggs Production designer: @xochichhi Costumes/H&M/PA: @starluvrval BTS 📸: @peytonfulford —————————- Partnered with @friezeofficial, @ghettofilmschool, @deutschebank, and @fifthseason . What a fantastic weekend! Our representatives here at LoH Studios had a blast connecting with everyone who attended this year's LightBox Expo! Our completely remote studio had its very first company meetup! In the future we hope to have more outings like this with even more of our team. Also, a huge thank you to those who took the time to chat with us and share about your artistic journey. We would love to stay in touch, and remember to reach out about any future opportunities. Our studio strives to unite passionate artists and we'd love to connect and continue the journey of sparking hope for the industry! #LoHStudios #lightboxexpo2024 #animation #indieanimation
