Starting dance class was one of the best decisions I ever made. I always said I'd wait for a man...but the man never came (still waiting ps.)

Over the past year I have low key been learning Latin dances. I legit live at @afrolatinodance 5 days a week practicing everything from salsa, samba, casino rueda, bachata andddd kizomba - safe to say I'm hooked and love our beautiful community.

Here is our new move from today's level 3 salsa class 💃🏻🙏🏼✨

✨ Dancing has always been one of my passions. It wasn’t part of my childhood—especially since dance was never taught in Iran—but the moment I had access to the classes, I jumped right in.
I first started in Australia during my PhD, where it became perfect balance to my academic life — a space to breathe, recharge and reconnect with myself.

Now in Toronto, after a pause from dancing, I’ve joined @sazondanceco that is so much more than instruction. It's about growth, expression and soul.

💃 Thanks to @claudiahuertabr and @pedro.vera.medel , who are more than instructors—they’re coaches, mentors, and community builders. I've found not just training, but a family that thrives on kindness, support, and motivation.

I’m beyond grateful to have been selected not only to perform but also to compete at the upcoming Salsa Congress.

🌟with lots of shows ahead in the next three weeks, I'm excited for this journey of movement, music and community.

And from my heart: don't give up on your dreams and goals. If I can, you can too. 💫

✨ رقصیدن همیشه یکی از علایق من بود. هرچند در کودکی تجربه‌اش نکردم، چون در ایران هیچ‌وقت آموزش داده نمی‌شد. اما همین‌که به کلاس‌ها دسترسی پیدا کردم، زندگی‌ام رنگ تازه‌ای گرفت.

اولین بار در استرالیا، وسط فشارهای درس خوندن دکترا، رقص برام مثل فرصتی برای نفس تازه کردن شد. حالا در تورنتو دوباره شروع کردم؛ و خوشبختانه جایی که میرم فقط آموزش نیست، بلکه خانواده‌ای پر از مهربانی و انرژی مثبت و رشد هست.

💃 ممنون از Claudia و Pedro، که بیشتر از مربی رقص، الهام‌بخش و همراه‌اند. خوشحالم که برای اجرا و حتی رقابت در کنگره سالسا امسال انتخاب شدم. 🌟 سه هفته آینده پر از اجرا و هیجان خواهد بود 😊

و از ته دل می‌گم: از اهداف و آرزوهاتون دست برندارید.‌اگر من تونستم، شما هم قطعا می‌تونید. 💪💪
