if you’ve never experienced sound healing, here’s what actually happens;

the bowls create vibrations that move through your body at a cellular level. your nervous system (which has been in some version of fight or flight) starts to regulate. your heart rate slows. your breath deepens on its own and somewhere in the middle of it, your brain stops problem-solving and just receives.

we include it in our retreats because we’ve felt it integrates everything. like your body finally gets to file away what it just processed.

some experiences aren’t meant to be fully shared.

what happened inside that temazcal stays with the women who were in it. the words, the affirmations, the intentions spoken out loud in the dark, in the heat, in a space built by hand by a shaman who has held ceremony longer than any of us have been seeking 🌿💨

but before any of that could happen, these women had to trust us.

trust that we would never put them in a space that wasn’t safe, intentional, and worth every moment of uncertainty on the way there. they gave us that trust. and the temazcal gave them everything 🤍

immersion doesn’t stop at the villa gate 💫🌿

we walked into town. we met the locals. we danced when the music found us. we stopped at every stall that caught our eye and asked the story behind it.

the wrestling masks, the skulls, the Mexican flags moving in the wind. a culture showing itself to a group of women who came ready to receive it.

we had every intention of staying in longer 😅😂

that’s the thing about shared experiences that actually mean something. they compress time in a way nothing else can. you go through enough together and something shifts. the formalities disappear. the guard comes down.

and then this happens. something completely unplanned that somehow means just as much. because you don’t laugh like this with strangers. you laugh like this with your people.

and somewhere between the cacao ceremony and the cenote and the jungle gym these women became exactly that.

this is what The Ground creates. not just the magic moments. the real ones too. 🤍

there is something about watching the woman before you get through it that makes you believe you can too 💫🌿

each one stepped into that cold plunge carrying her own version of resistance. and each one breathed through it, tapped in, found the stillness the cold eventually gives you when you stop fighting it.

xuan was there for every single one. breath by breath. because this is what we mean when we say we facilitate these experiences. we don’t just curate the moments. we stand in them with you.
