What a Sunday! The #axtaunties were honored to be sponsors for a special event that brought women creators together for a day of art, food, music, film and fashion called The Showing.

@hercollected brought women from all walks of life together to celebrate community, creators and have deep discussions in a safe space.

#AXTFI screened four short films throughout the day by:

@414filmsinc: Cry Baby Cry
@qdc_pics: Happy Anniversary
@vanessaismagic: The Absurdity of the Black Female Experience
L.A. Wade: Thirsty A.F.: The Adventures of a Recovering Sex Addict

Their films featured women dealing with relationships, consent, and empowerment, with relatable themes and situations.
AXTFI looks forward to supporting them in the future.

Shoutout to magnificent October Rose and her incredible band for leaving everyone with a musical high.

Brava to Janine and everyone involved. It was a day we'll be buzzing about for a long time!

🖤Some stories sit with you a little longer before you’re ready to let them go. The ones that keep you up at 3 a.m. questioning why the hell you wrote them in the first place.

KEMP was that story for me.
MONSTER is here, y’all! 🖤l

16 short stories. 14 authors of colour. Stories that might follow you long after the last page.

Huge shout out to the editors in chief at Lead with Diversity Press @dr.r.abdulrehman @aqfarrell @cemo25 Carolyn Mauricette, Dr. Rehman Abdulrehman, and Anthony Farrell for nurturing these stories, and helping each of us authors bring MONSTER to life.

All my hugs and high fives to the incredible @coryleemusic for her hand holding me through my very first vertical reel. Yes, I know I know. I’m late, but Cory gets all the love for this one! Thanks momma!!!!

Alright, fam. The book is out of our hands and into yours! Let us know what you think.

Available in paperback and hardcover at @tumasbooks and on Amazon US and Canada: Link in Bio!

Read KEMP by Lanette Ware-Bushfield in the MONSTER horror anthology.🖤

THE SHOWING is in 10… no wait, 9 days, and I’m honestly sitting in so much gratitude.

Because this isn’t “just an event.” It’s a vision I’ve been carrying, building, and protecting… and the way y’all have shown up for it? Whew.

To everyone who’s bought a ticket, shared a post, sent a DM, told a friend, offered a resource, prayed, sponsored, vended, created, collaborated, or simply kept saying “Janine, keep going”… thank you.

You’re not just supporting a project. You’re supporting a movement that reminds women what’s possible when we decide to show up for ourselves—out loud.

We’re almost there. And I can’t wait to experience this room with you.

Drop a “I’M SHOWING UP” in the comments if you’ll be in the building.
