Our annual community processional takes place next weekend 🖤

Together we honor the shared weight of sorrow through movement, music, and ritual. Rooted in collective care, this gathering invites participants to walk together in remembrance, solidarity, and the sacred act of grieving in public.

Grief does not look the same for everyone. It may be expressed through silence, song, movement, tears, conversation, prayer, art, memory, or simply the choice to show up. This gathering welcomes the full range of those experiences. We invite people of all ages, racial and cultural identities, genders, sexualities, faiths, abilities, and relationships to loss. We welcome you wherever you are in your grief, whether it is silent and still, or loud and moving.

We ask everyone to help create a space where grief is treated with dignity.

What does it mean to wear your grief?

For some, it may be a patch with a name or phrase. It may be a loved one’s shirt, jewelry, or another treasured object. It may be a color, a texture, flowers, handmade adornments, or something that only makes sense to you. It might mean symbols like tears, religious iconography, beings from nature, etc.

There is no single right way to express grief—and you do not need to wear anything at all. Your grief may be visible, subtle, private, changing, or beyond words.

For this year’s Carrying Our Grief community processional, we re-invite you to wear or carry what your grief calls for, with care for the cultures and traditions that are not your own. Draw from your own memories, relationships, and experiences rather than imitating sacred symbols or mourning practices from another community. Draw from the brilliance of the many expressions of grief we have witnessed and worn together in year’s past.

Join us October 17 from 1–3 p.m. at Race Street Pier in Philadelphia. Rain date: October 18.

Everywhere we walk, our feet fall on ancestors.

How often do you remember this?

What happens to our relationships when we infuse them with gratitude?

We all have such busy lives that it’s important to carve out time for a deep feeding of those who have gone before us - not only human, but plant and animal, and elemental as well.

In these times of ritual rememberence, I am so excited to have a place to make offerings and to DANCE for those lost, those living, and those yet to come.

Join us for the ancestor ball and re-member yourself to your soul.

The Equinox is a threshold, a moment of balance between light and darkness, and an invitation to pause and recognize the turning of the seasons. As the natural world begins its movement inward, we too can take a moment to reflect, release, give thanks, and consciously choose what we want to carry forward.

Together, we will create a Despacho, a traditional Andean offering made with intention, gratitude, and prayer. Through the creation and offering of the Despacho, we will bring our individual intentions together with those of the community, honoring our relationship with the Earth, the elements, and the larger web of life that holds us.

Coming together to honor these moments in time allows us to anchor into a bigger rhythm, one that can peacefully hold all that is unfolding within us and around us.

Let’s slow down. Let’s gather. Let’s give thanks.
And let’s honor the turning of the seasons, inside and out.

LOVE IS MY LINEAGE. 🌿❤️

I love this phrase, “Love Is My Lineage.” I heard these words through the work of Lama Rod Owens and indigenous activist and teacher, Sherri Mitchell (Weh’na Ha’mu Kwasset), and they have stayed with me.

For me, the phrase speaks to a simple but profound question:

What do we choose to inherit, and what do we choose to carry forward?

Our lineage is more than our bloodlines, our names, or the stories of those who came before us.

It can also be the love, wisdom, relationship, and responsibility that we choose to embody and pass on.

Love is where I come from.
Love is what I carry.
Love is what I leave behind.

50% of proceeds from every shirt will support forest restoration in the Amazon through @caminoverdetambopata , an organization working with Amazonian communities to regenerate forests, restore biodiversity, and create sustainable futures.

Because our lineage isn’t only about where we came from.

It is also about what we leave behind.

Join Amy Mermaid Isakov for an ongoing series of experiential evenings devoted to shamanic practice, relationship with the unseen world, and the cultivation of deep listening.

This month: August 19 – How to Talk to Rocks
A playful and profound exploration of communicating with the land and the wisdom held within stones.

Shamanism is not something learned only through reading or theory. It is a living practice that grows through attention, relationship, and experience.

Each gathering offers a welcoming space to learn, practice, and deepen your connection with the more-than-human world. Some evenings introduce foundational practices, while others explore specific aspects of shamanic relationship and wisdom.

These evenings are open to both newcomers and experienced practitioners.

Together we practice, listen, and remember the ways of connection that help restore balance between ourselves, our communities, and the living world.

Hosted by Amy Mermaid and her crew of beautiful mischief makers, we’ll dwell beyond words where the sacred and the playful dance together.

Holiness can be found everywhere, if you know how to look.
Let’s bring reverence to the ridiculous and ridiculousness to reverence.

Let’s bring extra to the ordinary and wonder to the unexpected.
Because sometimes the deepest truths arrive wearing wings, rags, antlers, glitter... or a really good costume.

What beautiful mischief might you conjure this Halloween?

🌊 Beneath the Surface, We Remember 🌊
August 8th

There is a place beneath the noise…
beneath the expectations…
beneath the stories we carry…

A place where we remember how to play.

Where the body becomes a prayer.
Where movement becomes medicine.
Where connection becomes the art.

Join me and Joy @joy.rigel for an underwater Prayer Play — an invitation to enter the water as a creator, a dreamer, a muse.

Together we will explore the beauty of being seen, the freedom of expression, and the magic that happens when we stop trying to create something beautiful…
and remember that we are the beauty creating itself.

The water holds us.
The camera witnesses us.
The art moves through us.

Come float, play, connect, and remember.
