Happy Black History Month!

The theme (offered by the @smithsonian museum) for 2024 is music and the arts.

In addition to exploring your favorite fitness music and its origins in Black creativity, consider these self-reflection questions. Save and share with others!

—

How can I acknowledge the Black creativity embedded in the music, history, language, and culture of the class I teach?

What ways do I currently create access to my fitness knowledge for marginalized communities of color, in-person and online?

Women and people of color are often the “only” in the room, a scenario that can spur outsider and impostor feelings. How do you differentiate your instruction to create a comfortable atmosphere for all of your participants?

When you reflect on the sources of your professional development and inspiration, how many of them originate from Black fitness professionals?

I’m excited to share with you a behind-the-scenes look at my studio’s engineering process for recording vocals and bringing out the best in the performance.

I recently had the pleasure of working with the talented singer-songwriter, soon-to-be doctor, @madsallen13
Knowing she has a busy schedule, so I wanted to make the most of our time together by ensuring that every moment in the studio is fun, inspiring, and rewarding.

Here are four things our producer/engineers do to help facilitate a successful session:

⭐️ Creating a relaxed atmosphere -

to create a welcoming and comfortable environment that puts the artist at ease. I tend to use light candles and vacuum about 30 min. Before session. Clean organized area keeps things at ease. It also help Having everything like water snacks and treats for replenishing talent in

⭐️ Communication is key -

Communicate clearly with the artist to understand their goals and vision, as well as provide adequate feedback and guidance throughout the recording process. It’s good to also ask before trying different things to give margins. Don’t be afraid to rephrase and repeat and most of all, call out everything you’re doing so the flow is growing.

⭐️ Attention to detail -

pay attention to the small details, like mic placement, levels, and EQ settings, to ensure the best possible sound quality. Also take note if talent need more volume or less to adjust to there headphones to maybe optimize the listening experience.

⭐️ Keeping the vibe positive -

maintain a positive attitude and energy throughout the session, keeping the artist motivated and inspired. It helps to tell a joke two and always encourage and coach them through

I take a lot of pride on creating a fun creative , environment that allows artists to be there authentic self to deliver their best performance and experience.

My Question to you.

What’s your favorite part of the recording process, and how do you stay motivated when creating music? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting sessions.

“Breaking Through the Noise: 7 Effective ways to Promote your music without begging People”

Inspired by the post, shoutout to the Voice by @promo_god33 🙏🏿✨

I’m here to give you the lowdown on how to promote your music without sounding like a desperate little beggar!

💎 1. Be polite and exercise courtesy

First things first you gotta understand that people don’t like to be told what to do. So if you’re constantly asking people to listen to your music, you’re gonna turn them off real quick.

💎 2. Build Relationship.

Instead, you wanna focus on building a relationship with your audience. Show them that you’re a real person, and that you care about more than just getting plays.

💎 3. Collaboration.

One way to do this is by collaborating with other artists. Not only will you get to work with some talented people, but you’ll also get to tap into their fan base.

💎 4. Go to the People

Another way to promote your music is by getting involved in the local music scene. Play shows, meet other musicians, and build a community around your music.

💎 5. Create engaging Content Online

You can also use social media to your advantage. But instead of just posting links to your music, try to create content that’s interesting and engaging.

💎 6. Be patient and persistent.

You gotta understand that breaking through the noise is gonna take time. But if you keep at it, and keep putting yourself out there, you’ll eventually get noticed. Also people will know if your rushing them to do something. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Enjoy the process

💎 7. Be Yourself!

The most important thing is to be genuine and authentic, don’t try to be anyone else and don’t try to copy anyone else’s style. Be true to yourself and your music will speak for itself. Don’t try to copy anyone else’s style. Just be yourself and your music will speak for itself

If this was insightful in anyway please share this and save this post! Also if you felt I missed anything please comment below I would like to hear your thoughts !

Are you an omnivert music creative struggling to navigate the confusing world of social interaction?

Fear not, for I have a simple guide on how to thrive as an omnivert in the music business.

Omnivert creatives are individuals with both introverted and extroverted traits who can adapt to different environments and situations. They are flexible, adaptable, and have good communication skills. They also possess a balanced perspective and are often creative and innovative thinkers

Step 1: Embrace your inner introvert side.

When it comes to creating music, solitude is key. So go ahead and lock yourself in your studio for hours on end, cranking out beat.

Step 2: But don’t forget to come out of your shell once in a while! Remember, you have a body to feed food and use the bathroom ever once in a while.

Sometime how it Looks like for me is networking. Relationships is crucial for success in the music industry. So put on your extrovert hat and hit up some events, making sure to charm everyone you meet with your witty banter and charming personality. If you’re like me, instead invite people in to your space and create the event so you know who so coming that you like to connect.

Step 3: And when all else fails, just remember that being an omnivert means you have the best of both worlds. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed and need to retreat back into your introverted ways, go ahead and do so. But don’t stay there too long, because the music world needs your unique perspective and sound. Also don’t forget to drink water.

Hope this helps !
