🇦🇺 New marathon PR of 4:45:15 in Sydney!!! 🔔

Never thought this was possible since it’s the hilliest of all the majors and I woke up with an angry left hip. Goal A was sub-5 and Goal B was just to finish. Somehow I got both, with room to spare. 🥹

Sydney’s magic ➕ the voice messages from my people carried me the whole way, which Garmin recorded at 26.63 miles. ⌚️ Also not trying to compare to Tokyo, but crowd support here was next level electrifying. Seriously. 📣

Every mile I ran today was for my pups 🐶, my sailor ⚓, my community 🔥, my donors 💖, and every homeless pet that @pawschicago continues to save 🐾. Could not have done this without y’all—so mahalo nui from the bottom of my heart 🌺

Now, off to enjoy what’s left of my time in Australia before this Lord of the Rings fan hops over to New Zealand. ✈️🇳🇿⛰️

🔟K comeback run. 🏃🏻‍♀️

After two weeks of no running, this felt darn good. Legs took a while to warm up but re-learned how they ought to work eventually. 😅

Injury has a way of reminding you that this body is on loan. You don’t get to negotiate the timeline—you just have to wait, trust, and resist the urge to rush back before you’re ready. Two weeks felt long. But somewhere in the in-between, there were good people, good conversations, and the kind of catching up that fills you back up in a different way. 💖

Today’s run felt like permission to exhale. Grateful to be moving—and to have had people worth slowing down for. 🤙🏽
