Happy National Cuban Sandwich Day!

And before you ask… yes, salami absolutely belongs on a Cuban!

Tampa’s Cuban sandwich is a reflection of Ybor City’s melting pot: Cuban immigrants brought the bread and mojo-roasted pork, Spaniards the ham, Sicilians and Italians the Genoa salami, and German and Jewish immigrants brought the mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese.

Here are five Tampa-style Cuban sandwiches worth your money 👇

• @centralcoffeetpa - for a sandwich chock full of meat and an added touch of pesto
• @dicoffeebar - for a crisp, lighter sandwich
• @flanfactory - for a massive, authentic, juicy pork-filled Cuban
• @columbiarestaurant - for delectable bread and the perfect ratios at the oldest restaurant in Florida
• West Tampa Sandwich Shop - for the ultimate Cuban sandwich, brushed with honey and filled with lettuce and tomato. Fondly nicknamed the “Obama” after former President Barack Obama’s order at this decades-old West Tampa establishment.
* honorable mention for La Segunda but I don’t have any footage ://

👉 Send to someone who needs to try these and follow @cravingswithkatrina for more food, fun & sun in Tampa and beyond!

My favorite hobby: exploring local spots around Tampa Bay (especially coffee ☕️🤎)

Tagged as many spots as Instagram would allow, but a few more favorites that didn’t make the tag limit.

☕️ @patronacoffee - super cute water view spot, but go early because it gets busy!

🥐 @littletinacafe , @eatpsomi (Baklava Latte 😍), @kubanakafe , @casaazultpa

🌸 @bloomingfloralcafe - such a cute hidden gem

🌿 @fatbeetfarm - one of my favorite places

🥪 @ticosbakerytampa - my newest obsession with some of the best pastries and sandwiches

I mean… this breakfast burrito truly rocked my world 🤯🌯

@centralcoffeetpa is known for their breakfast burrito, and after one bite I immediately know why!!

This thing is STUFFED with eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, cheddar jack & monterey cheese, pico de gallo, and their house-made chipotle sauce that I would happily drink by the gallon if given the opportunity 🤤

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but this is your sign to stop settling for mediocre breakfast burritos and go get this one!!!!
