Com direção de Rodrigo García Saiz, filme mexicano “Morro” estreia amanhã(17) na 50ª Mostra Internacional de Cinema em São Paulo.

Exibido no Festival de San Sebastián e premiado no Festival de Cinema Latino-Americano de Biarritz, “Morro” acompanha Mateo, um veterinário em uma pequena cidade mexicana que desde a morte do seu filho, tem a vida transcorrida em meio a rotinas silenciosas e uma culpa que permanece sem nome.

The studio air was so spicy we had to wear masks. Literally.

Ghost peppers, fire, sparks, smoke, flying chicken and lemons. We crafted every frame to make you feel the heat—and crave a bite.

This film is about people, the people of Mexico, and the work that fills their days: loading hay at sunrise, bringing in the harvest, working in the quarry dust. Their hands, their land, their rhythm. Work belongs to all of us, and we wanted to honor it in the places and faces where it happens every day.

The HILUX is there the whole way, not as the hero of the story but as a companion to the people who carry it.

Shot on ALEXA 35 with TLS Kowa Prominars + Canon K35 25–120mm zoom and on 16mm with Kodak 250D @kodak_shootfilm_mx

We wanted the texture of the film to feel as honest as the people in it.

We're deeply grateful to everyone who opened their homes, their fields, and their workplaces to us, and to the crew who poured their hearts into every frame. This film belongs to them.
