[UNTITLED]

It had to feel raw to mirror the textures
I wanted it to have some form of grit

I wanted to play with the things you can and cannot see

After all we do not view the world in third person
We see flashes of our outfits but only in reflections and photos

It isn’t really about what you can make out but more of how it made you feel

In hindsight the video in its entirety could’ve used more pixels

but something about the authenticity captured by the camcorder is enough for me

for now

[FLOW]

echoed around in my mind

When the elements touched the fabric that was all I could think about

the way it moved
the way it interacted

I didn’t want the background to take away from that
but I also didn’t want it to be shot in a studio

[TEXTURES]

It felt simple yet complex
random yet intentional

Time was not on my side
I needed the harsh sunlight,
not so much the soft evening glow

There was no shot list
There was no specificity

There was only freedom

[MOOD]

white
concrete
semi-industrial

She presented a single frame moodboard
A combination of textures and past editorials

I’m used to the Pinterest boards
but she gave me something unique

so I had to do the same

[DETAILS]

and yet there is heart in the minute

I’ve watched her draft the patterns
I’ve heard the tears that came with the process

and I was tasked to bring it to life
