It was a pleasure to have been invited to the Chicago Latine/x Contemporary Movement Festival this past weekend, representing both @davidherreraperformancecompany and @latinx_hispanic_dancers_united as guest Moderator for the choreographers’ panel and guest speaker during a larger community discussion focusing on building Latinx dance community on the national scale. Thx you @latincontempmovement and @cerquarivera for the fierce gathering!

SEPTEMBER 2026

This month was filled with so much dance as I started a new job as the engagment coordinator for @cerquarivera! Honestly the energy of the dance scene in Chicago was the perfect send off to summer! So excited to experience Fall in the city next month!

Tomorrow I fly out to Chicago for the 2nd annual Latinx/e Contemporary Movement Festival as I prepare to premiere “soy libre,” featuring @cerquarivera dancers!

This piece is dedicated to my sister, @jenny_lynn_rivera, who has broken cycles and forged a different path to freedom for her & the family! Love you, dork!
