What an honour to sing at the sparkliest wedding of the century!! 🤩🪩

The biggest congrats to everyone’s favourite dancefloor demolishers and matrimonial madlads @anelleofagirl and Aidan 💖💖💖 Thank you for a fantastic day of celebration and silliness, for being wonderful people separately and together, and for having me sing about your eventual divorce. I’d do it any day xx

(I only cried 4-5 times during the ceremony! Score!) A group of people sat around their dinner table at a wedding, all smiling and posing for the camera. There are pink and orange decorations all over.

YOU’VE GONE QUIET ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A funny, heartfelt new play that finds humanity in difficult conversations

Original new writing can feel like a rarity, making You’ve Gone Quiet all the more refreshing. Cerys Duffy’s play explores gender, parenthood and identity with warmth, wit and emotional honesty, creating something that feels both deeply personal and strikingly universal. Beth, a trans journalist, agrees to help her best friend Tara have a child.

What begins as an act of friendship becomes far more complicated when Beth writes about the experience and the article unexpectedly goes viral, forcing private decisions into the public eye. Rather than offering easy answers, the play explores the emotional consequences with intelligence and compassion. Duffy’s writing is at its strongest when it finds humour in uncomfortable truths.

The comedy never undercuts the drama, instead making the quieter moments land with even greater impact. The relationships feel authentic throughout, and the script resists turning its characters into mouthpieces, allowing them to remain flawed, believable people. Andy McLeod’s direction keeps everything grounded, balancing humour and heartbreak with confidence. The pacing rarely falters, giving emotional scenes room to breathe without losing momentum.
The ensemble works beautifully together, creating relationships that feel completely lived in.

Shane Convery brings vulnerability and quiet strength to Beth, while Gennifer Becouarn gives Tara warmth and emotional depth. Matt Vickery and Oliver Redpath provide many of the evening’s biggest laughs, but every member of the company contributes to a production that feels wonderfully cohesive.

You’ve Gone Quiet is thoughtful without becoming preachy, funny without losing its emotional honesty, and proof that bold new writing can still surprise, challenge and entertain in equal measure.

A witty, compassionate and sharply observed new play that deserves to be seen beyond its current run.

‘You’ve Gone Quiet’- June 2026
Dir. @andymcleod09

Could not be prouder to have this production as my first touring experience. A million 5* reviews, 5 Fringe Award nominations, 2 fish and chips in 2 different cities, and far too many pints later, I will forever be proud to have been apart of such an important, and resonant piece of theatre.

You’re all rather brilliant, the entire cast and crew from top to bottom.
And also, Gaz was there.

Can’t share our finale of Sherlock singing Celine Dion, so here’s the very end of the last night of our show - I guess you’ll just have to book tickets to our inevitable reprisal if you want to experience the rest!

Brighton’s 24 Hour Play Festival!

Well, that’s a wrap. I don’t really know how to write this post because I’ve honestly not come to terms that it has ended!

This has been probably one of the most chaotic, challenging, toughest and BEST experiences of my acting career! It was the longest day yesterday but filled with absolute joy and laughs from my team. We got the script at 8AM and had to learn the plot of the play as well as lines and direction, ready for the show at 8PM!

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone involved; from the tech people, the staff, everyone at @theheartissavage but most importantly my team, Team Apple! I had the pleasure to bring the fabulous @cerysevansinsta work to life under the direction from the amazing and hilarious @emmie_spencer as well as co starring with now my new best friends and acting family; @joanna.v.ackroyd (My new acting mother), Jordan Southwell and Mariama Bah!

Getting the opportunity to perform on the stage that i’ve dreamed of doing ever since I was little was really a full circle moment for me! I used to watch shows at the Theatre Royal in Brighton and now I can say that I personally performed a show on that same very stage! Last night was for you little Alfie!

See ya next year (hopefully)!
