Design starts with observation.

Step inside the Paris atelier of Lucas Zito, where 3D-printed lamps blur the line between craft and technology. What makes his work resonate isn’t just the objects themselves, but the way they’re shaped by the rhythms of city life, patterns noticed while biking through Paris, textures pulled from train tracks or facades, and everyday details most of us might pass by.

The result: lamps that feel both organic and architectural, showing how digital tools like 3D printing can translate fleeting impressions into lasting design.

A short documentary about the Paris-based designer @lucaszitolouisor. His practice focuses on 3D printed buoy lighting pieces using recycled bioplastics which are assembled in his atelier. The film focuses on his philosophy and embracing the errors within his highly-technologised medium.

Hugely rewarding directing this one with a like-minded team interested in the doctrine of design.
