What began as a quick sketch on a napkin over dinner has evolved into a distinct vision for a home in Desert Mountain that is breaking ground today.

The home has two structures connected by an open air bridge with refined contemporary architecture and interior design.

A home that’s distinctly its own, and part two starting soon. As the family has grown and more space is needed we’ve initiated the design for a “super casita”. It features 4 bedrooms with incredible city light views, a kitchen, living area, golf simulator and 4 car garage.

The most expensive part of this project is about to disappear. 👀

And we couldn’t be more excited.

For months, we’ve been moving dirt, digging trenches, installing utilities, laying infrastructure, and spending an extraordinary amount of time and money on things that will eventually be buried and never seen again.

Not exactly the glamorous part of building your dream property. 😂

But something BIG is about to happen.

We’re approaching the end of the underground infrastructure phase and getting ready to GO VERTICAL. 🚀

After months of looking at trenches, pipes, equipment, and piles of dirt, we’re finally getting to the part where this entire project starts taking shape above ground.

Walls. Rooflines. Buildings. Actual structures.

The transformation is about to get a whole lot more interesting.

Here’s what nobody tells you about building from scratch: Sometimes the biggest milestones are the ones you can’t even see.

We’ve been building the foundation for everything that’s coming. Now we’re getting ready to build everything you’ll actually see.

And THAT is worth getting excited about.

🏗️ Who’s ready to watch this place come to life?

Many thanks to the teams who’ve put their all into what’s been built so far @rocky_mountain_excavation_llc_ @moesconcrete @atlasmasonryaz @aft_construction er

A look into our most recent completed project in the Saguaro Forest neighborhood of Desert Mountain.

The roof lines create an element that makes this home stand out architecturally, while also blending into its peaceful environment.

There was a flash flood the other day.

Wiped out a lot of the prep that had been done.

If these had been installed they would have been very helpful but not having them proved just how necessary they are.

Seeing how quickly and powerfully the water flowed through the middle of our property was eye opening.

Knowing that our team planned for this from the very beginning is confidence boosting.

Seeing that plan come to life in real time is mesmerizing.

Looking forward to the next rains to watch these babies in action!

#thehousethatbreadbuilt sits on a nearly 5 acre parcel that has three unique flood channels that run right through it.

To maximize the utility of the lot, our incredible team of architects and engineers designed waterways called “culverts” hidden inside the driveways.

This wash management plan has to be installed during these early stages of construction since the vast majority of the work will be buried and undetectable once the project is completed.

Many thanks to @rocky_mountain_excavation_llc_ @moesconcrete @atlasmasonryaz for their expertise, execution and obvious care for our project. Your work may never been seen, but its importance will never be under appreciated.

5 acre lot, 13000 under roof. Ai did a little enhancement to my photo. 😉
What you’re seeing is the beginning stages of a build. We’re constructing
retaining walls that will envelop the house pad and yard. You’ll also see
Two driveway culverts that will allow the washes to run through the property.
This is the stuff the average person will never see, they’ll just see the finished
pretty house.

(VOLUME UP) The sights and sounds of retaining wall install

This step in the process is almost entirely hidden when the project is complete but it takes tons of skill and absolute precision. This is the part that allows our incredible builders to build our dream home. This is the team behind our team.

We will likely never know their names, but we are eternally grateful to each and every one of the men who toiled to make our dreams come true, dripping sweat under the relentless Scottsdale sun. Your deep knowledge, your attention to detail and your willingness to do the work that no one sees has earned our deepest gratitude.
