We are 1 week away from an amazing event. Oct 17th in Huntington Beach. Join us for live music, bottomless beer tastings, amazing BBQ from some of OC’s best BBQ vendors where the people will vote for their favorite BBQ. All this to raise money to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. This marks my 14th year of support the foundation after being diagnosis with a form of CF. It’s been one year since Gryffin’s first hospital admission and all I can say is, medical parents are built differently. I told the staff, I won’t be the hardest parent you’ll deal with, but I’m definitely not the easiest. For weeks we advocated for our not even 2 year old while he underwent treatments and procedures he couldn’t understand. And yes one of his first words was vitals.

Our team worked to try to rid his lungs of a bacteria infection - pseudomonas. We stayed for weeks in a hospital room for around the clock antibiotics administered through a central line to his heart. It didn’t work. But we keep fighting.

Recently we found out that Gryffin is part of the 10% of CF patients that don’t qualify for the latest medications called modulators which is the closet thing we’ve gotten to a cure for CF. It’s a miracle drug party, and we are not invited. Gryffin’s mutations are too rare. He’s just too special.

We are still at the beginning of his CF journey, but also the beginning of his life. And we’ll continue to bring as much fun, color, light, and hope as we possibly can to moments like these because his life isn’t just CF. He may have a difficult road ahead, but he’s got an even stronger team supporting him.

Paddlers wanted! 🌊💜

On October 17, we’re bringing together a Likewise crew for the Off Da Couch race—to represent for Cystic Fibrosis and race in Sam’s memory, at his race.

This isn’t about podiums. It’s about showing up, having fun, bringing awareness to CF, and honoring someone who continues to inspire why we paddle.

We still need a few paddlers! Cool shirts, good people, and a greater purpose. DM me for information. 🩵

No experience necessary. We have a few practices to get you holding a paddle, if you need.
