A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our youth-focused screening of the documentary film This Ain’t Normal — with @mtwyouth, @cfjjma and Kreateabuzz! Following the film, youth participants joined educators, service providers, and public health experts for moderated breakout sessions. They shared their experiences navigating foster care, the juvenile justice system, and the education system — and what meaningful support truly looks like. They also candidly discussed legislative advocacy and how young people can use their voices to shape policymaking and secure funding for youth programs. We’re so grateful to everyone who made this event possible, especially the young people who led the conversation and shared invaluable insights into how adults can better support our youth. When young people make their voices heard, they change the conversation, improve policymaking and build safer communities for everyone.

50 posts ago, I was just trying to figure life out. Today I’m speaking on stages, helping change policy, getting interviewed, and standing beside people I used to only read about. Talent is everywhere. Opportunity isn’t. I’m just getting started. #JFF #YouthLeadership #SecondChances #RaiseTheAge #horizons CriminalJusticeReform CommunityLeadership Policy PublicSpeaking Leadership

A year ago, I was just trying to figure out how to get in the room. This week, I had the opportunity to speak on a national panel, be interviewed by LinkedIn and McDonald’s, and connect with people from all over the country who are working to create more opportunities for young people. One thing this experience reminded me of is something I truly believe: Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not. I wouldn’t be here without the people and organizations that believed in me before I had all the answers. I’ll never take that for granted. Now my responsibility is to keep opening doors for the next young person who’s just looking for one opportunity. This is only the beginning. Thank you to @More Than Words, @JUMP Leadership Accelerator, @JFF, @LinkedIn, @McDonald’s, and everyone who made this experience possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Thursday for our #WearOrange Community Gathering and Resource Fair in Boston! Together, we raised awareness about gun violence in Massachusetts and the actions we can all take to address its root causes. From domestic violence and suicide prevention to juvenile justice, prison reform, and survivor support services, our partner organizations spoke powerfully about the many ways we can build safer communities and prevent gun violence at its roots.  We’re so grateful to the community organizations who participated and to everyone who stopped by to learn more and get involved! 🧡 #WearOrange #EndGunViolence
