Have you heard about the Dinner Program at Our House? At 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday, students and mentors join one another around several tables and enjoy a nutritious meal, conversations without the distraction of screens, and find community in each other’s company.

Group dinners, which once fit well around one large table, have now grown by over triple in attendance, and this year, Our House has gone from offering dinner on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, to offering dinner 5 nights per week. Last school year, we served over 1,334 meals from September to June. This would not be possible without the dedication of our donors, Tom Proch, the Community Foundation of Nantucket, Nourish Nantucket, and The Fairgrounds.

Not only do our nightly dinners offer practical life skills such as table etiquette, sharing responsibility, the importance of nutrition, and face-to-face socialization; they encourage social-emotional skills, a kind of security that comes from finding commonality in diversity, strength in differences, and joy in community.

THE SECRET TO LIVING IS GIVING 🌟🧡✨We felt this in every corner of the Sconset Casino on July 7, surrounded by people who pour their hearts into caring for Nantucket. We celebrated the generosity of @cfnantucket with the Nantucket Fund at the Community Foundation for Nantucket, which awarded $1 million in grants for 42 nonprofits!

We are so grateful that the @nantucket_wellness_festival , a program of Happy Place Events, our non-profit, received a $5,000 grant from the Nantucket Fund at the Community Foundation for Nantucket to support seasonal wellness programming for our year-round community. What a gift to stand among so many people finding ways to give bACK to this island we love!

And now... SAVE THE DATE ... Saturday, January 9, 2027! Our Winter Community Wellness Day returns to the @nantucketdreamland for a full day of movement, mindfulness, and meaningful conversations—all FREE for our island community, thanks to the generosity of partners like the Community Foundation for Nantucket and the Dreamland Nantucket.

To the donors, nonprofits, and neighbors whose generosity makes days like this possible: thank you. 🙏

We so look forward to being in community with you again this winter! 🧡

With Dharma and Bliss,
Joann & Holly

Thank you, Nantucket! Tom Nevers Field was full of life this weekend with beautiful weather and familiar local faces.

The delicious fair food, countless games for kids little and big, the music drifting across the fairgrounds, and all of you who came out to enjoy it. It’s community like this that makes the island feel like home. See you next year! 🌾

We officially broke ground at 75 Old South Road!

This milestone marks the final chapter of a project that began nearly 16 years ago, when Housing Nantucket was selected through a Town RFP to transform this underutilized property into affordable rental housing and a home for our organization.

Since then, the site has evolved through relocated and repurposed island homes, new construction, and creative use of zoning opportunities to create more housing. When these three new one-bedroom apartments are complete, the property will provide nine year-round rental homes, in addition to Housing Nantucket’s office.

We are especially excited that these new homes will help meet a critical need for smaller, year-round rentals for members of Nantucket’s workforce.

We are grateful to the Community Foundation for Nantucket for supporting this project through the Nantucket Fund, to Dreamline Modular, and to everyone who joined us Thursday to celebrate this milestone.

After nearly 16 years, we’re excited to complete the vision for 75 Old South Road - and add three more year-round homes for our island community!

💫We had the most incredible summer- we were on bikes, at the pool, on kayaks and paddle boards, made a trip to the circus, went rock climbing, took an ice cream cruise and most importantly spent tons of time with our friends! Come join the community!! 💫

Earlier this month, NET was thrilled and honored to receive two Nantucket Fund grants from the Community Foundation for Nantucket. Two of our board members, Hadley Dutra (Chair) and Laura Gallagher Byrne attended the event at which awards were announced. We are grateful to the Community Foundation for its support not only of NET but so many other worthy nonprofits on Nantucket doing incredible work to improve the lives of people on the island. (Our blog about the grants we received is linked in bio.)
