I'm dressing up in a silly costume again for my gym's annual fundraiser. The grueling workout is called Fight Gone Bad, and it's taking place this Saturday, Halloween. As ever, it's for a good cause, Brooklyn Community Housing & Services @bchands_org, a group that provides support and safe, clean housing for people who are unhoused or at risk of becoming so. This year my team chose "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" for its theme, and naturally I was cast as Eddie, who is played in the movie by Meat Loaf. If you feel like giving for a good cause, and/or just want to encourage novelists to wear bad wigs and pleather (see attached photo), please click the link below (which is also in my bio)! 🎃💀 CLEAN-O-WEEN 2026 💀🎃 This year, Clean-O-Ween is going to look a little different! After seeing what CrossFit South Brooklyn @cfsbk did with their lighting setup at an event we got inspired! With a little help from ChatGPT designing the layout, we've got something pretty awesome planned. For one night, Train Harder isn't going to look like Train Harder… it's going to look like CLUB TRAIN HARDER!🔥 yes the gym is going look like this. 📅 Saturday, November 14th ⏰ 6 PM 💰 100% FREE! 🏋️ THE RULES: 🔥 Make a clean — power or squat — and advance! 🔥 Weight increases 5 lbs every round. 🔥 3 misses TOTAL and you're out! 🏆 Last man and last woman standing are our 2026 Clean-O-Ween Champions! Lights, music, heavy barbells, and a whole different atmosphere! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO WANT TO MISS THIS ONE! 🎶💪

Closed September with a trip to the Morgan for their rightly lauded Tarot exhibit. The highlight had to be staring down the Chariot; I've never been a Thoth deck guy but seeing those images, especially the Chariot and the Magus, in their original prints, was soul striking. I also loved Leonora Carrington's art, absolutely gorgeously strange and lush. (Honorable Tarot mention: that poor little lion guy getting a beat down in the Strength card. Ever hit a high kick at lockout bc you're so hype? We came, we saw, we slung. Tin Slingers on Friday 10/2, created by @rad_global, sponsored by @roguefitness, and hosted on my home turf at @cfsbk was a blood pumpin, heart thumpin, rip-roarin Good Time. My sincere thanks to @thejojopowers @adamklink @maddiestarks and the R.A.D. team for all their thoughtful effort and execution of a very special event. Giving athletes an opportunity to shine and play in an epic environment is a truly magical gift. ✨️ Ty my @cfsbk community and volunteers for being the best, always. ☠️ S/o @ggracebrown for being so speedy we had time for some clean attempts. There are certain rooms where you can feel the energy before anything even starts. This was one of them. Getting the opportunity to emcee R.A.D Tin Slingers NYC was one of those moments I’ll remember for a long time. The athletes. The community. The noise. The competition. The people behind the scenes making it all happen. There was just an energy in that room that’s hard to manufacture. And I think that’s what makes what R.A.D is building so special. It’s bigger than shoes. Bigger than events. Bigger than fitness. They’re creating experiences that bring people together around training, competition and community… and somehow make everyone in the room feel like they’re part of it. To be trusted with a microphone and given the opportunity to help bring that energy to life was pretty damn special. Grateful to the R.A.D crew, @maddiestarks , @adamklink , @thejojopowers for continuing to bring me into the fold, grateful for every person in that room, and excited as hell to see where all of this goes.
