I’m super excited to post my first street skateboarding video part: Lucky Duck. The project took a little over a year from March 9, 2025 - April 22, 2026. I mostly stayed local and filmed clips around the Elkhart and Michiana area, but also took a couple skate trips to Indianapolis and Chicago. All the skate clips are filmed by @_justinshroades_ and @cgm_plug and my amazing wife @kn_kendall filmed some of the b-roll. I had no prior experience editing a video part before, so I really took my time and tried to put together something that showcased how fun skateboarding is and something that would be enjoyable for anybody to watch whether they are a skater or not.

The name “Lucky Duck” came from my opening clip, an ollie over a big gap off the top of the new City of Elkhart sign on Cassopolis Street by the toll road. I was warming up for it by doing an ollie down a 7 stair on the riverwalk in Elkhart. There were a few groups of people who stopped to watch me, and after slipping out the first couple landings a little girl approached me and offered me a lucky duck for good luck on my next try. She pulled a ziplock bag of these small duckies and let me pick one. I put it in my pocket, went back to the run up, landed my next try and rolled right past her and her family. You can see this clip towards the end of my video part. So I gave her a high five and I told her I would keep that lucky duck with me in my skate bag whenever I went out to film street clips for my video part because it was obviously good luck!

We then drove straight to the City of Elkhart sign to try and get my opening clip. I had already attempted this gap the week before and fell hard a couple times, skinned my hand open, and got pretty beat up. But this time I went there and on my third attempt stuck the landing clean and rolled away. I still keep that little duck in its own pocket in my skate bag whenever I go skate.

Filming this project was so fun and something I’m super proud of. Hope you all enjoy my video part - Lucky Duck.
