A long weekend FULL of flower friends and adventures.
…
Started off with some volunteering for @farmalliancebaltimore and @bluewaterbmore at Black Butterfly Farm. Great turnout and the pollinator garden is going to look so amazing in a few short seasons!
…
Then I moved on to design fun, by cutting some incredible blooms from my pal Cathie’s garden and taking them to a FlowerMore meetup. Had a relaxing few hours just playing with flowers with @ellenfrostflowers @bmoreblooms @saturdaysflowerfarm and @shewillneverquit - it was just what I needed.
…
Then I took a day trip by train to Richmond, VA for a solo adventure. Big reason for going was a consult with a dope tattoo artist that I am working with for something new and fun next year (more later). But best part of the day was going to the Richmond Museum of Fine Art and running into @amrqotb and @gamalcamel dad in the sculpture garden!
…
Wrapped up the weekend with an ikebana workshop at
@blue_gables_farm taught by fellow FlowerMore friend @cos.miel. Ended the day with a tour of the garden and a lovely dinner with @ellenfrostflowers and @cgvaeth.
…
Last slide is my September design challenge for our FlowerMore community - designing with grasses as the focal. I like how it turned out and the zebra grass that the owners of Blue Gables Farm let me cut and take home really made the design pop!
…
All this to say, my social battery is drained but my heart is full and my love of flowers continues…

That’s a wrap on an amazing trip. @cgvaeth is the best travel planner/translator/companion out there.

I was deeply honored to receive the LOUDER Award from NAMI Metro Baltimore, an organization whose work changes lives every single day. The way they show up for our community, creating space for honesty, healing, and hope, is something I truly admire. They remind us that listening is powerful, compassion is essential, and no one should ever feel alone.

This moment is not mine alone, it belongs to the people who have loved me, guided me, and lifted me every step of the way.

I was so grateful to have my mom and my “framily” surrounding me that evening, and always, with a lifetime of examples of kindness, compassion, and understanding. Their love has shaped who I am in the most meaningful ways.

Thank you to Johns Hopkins University, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Freeman Hrabowski, Aaron Merki, Beverly Winstead, Savonne Ferguson, and Toyja Kelley for sponsoring the event and this honor, and to my friends Pam, Jasmine, Shara, Shantel, Laramie, Josh, Shayla Jaya, Janet, Chris, and Jael for showing up and celebrating with me.

And to my mentor, Ava, thank you not only for the generous introduction, but for the example you set every single day. Your leadership, your generosity, and the way you pour into others has shaped me in ways I can’t fully put into words. I am so grateful for you.

It means so much to be recognized by an organization that reflects the very values I’ve been blessed to grow up around.

Congratulations as well to my fellow honorees, CFG Bank and Carroll Community College. I’m honored to stand alongside you.

Grateful and committed to continuing to listen, show up, and do the work. 💛

It’s always special when our customers bring their out of town friends and family to our shop. It’s an honor and it means so much that they love the shop and want to share it.

Today my own out of town bestie came to town for a few short hours. I wanted to show her what my Saturday mornings are like. Thank you @jinjichocolate @32ndfm @blacksaucekitchen @cgvaeth and @doppio_pasticceria for giving us the perfect morning!
