BETHANY SHOWING OFF THE CANON💪🔥 TO CALI HENTON WITH THE PERFECT TAG!🤩✨

Setting the scene: Runner on 3rd. 1 out.

Batter hits a pop fly to Bethany McCabe in centerfield. Bethany does a great job of getting to and working behind the ball to give her the momentum to deliver a PERFECT 1-hop throw to the catcher, Cali Henton.

While Bethany was working hard in center, Cali does an exceptional job getting into position to receive and make a tag at home without blocking the plate. She sees the throw on line, is in rhythm getting to 1 knee, and lets the ball travel to deliver a QUICK tag⚡️ Reaching for the ball here would have resulted in the runner being safe.

Cali has been working on this play a lot, so it’s really cool to see her hard work pay off🙏

Bethany + Cali = 2🔥 Coach Angie was just a ~little~ hyped😂

Way to work, ladies! Can’t wait to see more of this teamwork this fall🥰

Alejandro Kirk doesn’t dominate the strike zone with ONE receiving move.

That’s what makes him so good.

In 2026, Kirk is sitting at +7 Framing Runs with a 50.6% Shadow Strike Rate — but the number that interests me isn’t nearly as much as HOW he’s doing it.

High. Low. Glove side. Arm side.

Different locations require different solutions.

The best receivers aren’t trying to make every pitch look the same. They’re reading location, understanding what the pitch requires, and adjusting their movement to match it.

Stop chasing the perfect move. Build a catcher who has answers.

What do you notice about Kirk’s receiving?

It’s been a while since Ryan has been with @westcoastcatching the collaboration between the two is great to watch…you see it on the pitching machine when Ryan misses one..Ryan’s correction and David’s reinforcement..again with hand positioning in throwing and then again on the full throw…Ryan is getting to the point he may not need to be monitored that he can correct himself, but it’s nice to have instructors that listen and teach him about the small details…Ryan is soooo close to being very good
