POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hey CORE!♡♡

For those of you who have followed along, this weekend marked another iconic moment in our journey with Project Upcycle. Having competed in this sustainable design competition twice, returning this year as a judge truly felt like a full-circle moment.

Gotta be honest, I was a little anxious about being on the other side of the table. I understand firsthand the vulnerability it takes to push yourself outside of your comfort zone, challenge your creative process, and interpret a complex theme like “Transformation” while navigating restrictions, distractions, and the inevitable pivots when things don't go as planned.

Seeing these talented designers take on that challenge reminded me just how much dedication, courage, and creative problem-solving this process requires. I can't help but applaud each of them for showing up, leaning into the unknown, and sharing their vision with us.

A heartfelt thank you to the @3sartspace team and @recovergirl360 for the incredible work you continue to do to bring awareness to sustainability in fashion; to @apparel_impact, @springersjewelers and all other partners and collaborators for your contributions and sponsorship; and to my fellow judges @ch_restrepo and Alison Tranter for the thoughtful conversation and insight.

And, of course, thank you to all of the designers for sharing your talent, creativity, and stories with us. You all deserve to be celebrated!

Lastly, congratulations to the lovely @princess_.chicken on taking home the win! Your attention to detail, storytelling, and creativity were such a joy to witness. 🙌🏾👏🏾

Some experiences become part of your story in ways you don't fully understand until you have the chance to look back. Project Upcycle was one of those experiences for me, and a reminder that transformation isn't always just about what we create, but how the process changes us along the way.

A little more on that soon. ♡
