☀️🌞 MRS SUNSHINE EP OUT NOW 🌞☀️

Last year we stepped into the studio with @iggyiggyb and recorded fifteen songs over eight long days in a stuffy box room, a huge effort from all involved. 5 of these songs make up this new EP which is now yours to soundtrack your life. All the moments from the mundane to the magical 🧙

Being an independent band over the last 6 years has had its challenges and rough moments. However, we realise how lucky we are to have an audience who genuinely believe and care about us. As much as this EP is for us to finally bloooody have some new music out. Our efforts are largely for you and those who have and continued to support us and the twang.

Big ups to
@iggyiggyb for being the chillest, musicial wizard throughout this process. A true calm beacon of recording possibility and reminding us how simple and fun it can all be.

@neilrevealsound for the master as always
@elemarchant @behindtheeyeoffifi @sekinue for your visual aid, our patchwork artwork is made up of your creations
@georgecowley_ for keeping us in check and believing in us so much we’re forced to believe in ourselves again

2016! Were jumping on the bandwagon to take a look back to 2016 as the social media overlords have spoken 🤖

The Folklore Rooms didn’t exist back then but Folklore Sessions did, being birthed in 2014.

For those that haven’t been around that long, The Folklore Rooms came to be having ran our own free entry monthly gig in the corner of a pub (thank you @thewhiterabbitpub!!) which we did for 7 years. We would have three acts play, alongside founder Jacko Hooper (@jacko_hooper) to give singer songwriters in particular a place to call home. We still run this monthly showcase to this day as we enter our 12th year, providing folks with a place to discover their new favourite artists for a free entry night. Third Tuesday of the month at The Folklore Rooms!

We went on to put on more shows across Brighton, in gardens and pubs and shops and pop up theatres and festivals and wherever else we could drag a PA… There was a LOT of heavy lifting!

It’s crazy looking back… We wouldn’t have TFR, the record releases and the shows across the South East if it wasn’t for those early days - You might recognise some of the people in these photos! We’ve been blessed with many incredible artists over the years and looking forward for what’s to come 🫶

Anyone part of the community that far back? Any favourite memories over the last ten years? We’d love to hear them!

This is music, as it should be.
