On Monday, we hosted our @ymcasf Association Office team for a conversation about Community Well-Being with our CEO Jamie Bruning-Miles. A great opportunity to explore our vision to “Be, Belong, and Become” with colleagues in Finance, Marketing, Operations, Fundraising, Human Resources, IT, Facilities, and all areas of Administration. Discussions centered on the idea that we can all contribute to creating the conditions for well-being in our organization, our staff teams, and our communities. #bebelongbecome #ymca @ymcasf

Last week, we kicked off a series of conversations with colleagues about community wellbeing. Our CEO, Jamie Bruning-Miles, joined the staff team at the @peninsula_ymca to talk about our vision is action- and how the Y is a place for everyone (including each of us) to be our authentic selves, belong to a community, and become our best selves. We shared, we stretched (literally), and we asked great questions.

These conversations will continue at each branch across the Y’s service area- from Marin to San Francisco to San Mateo- from now through Spring 2027 #bebelongbecome #ymca @ymcasf

A wonderful week celebrating the Y’s 175 Anniversary with colleagues from across the US. Lots of connection, inspiration, ideas, laughs, shared meals, and steps (wowza, that NOLA convention center is looooooong). Throw in a voodoo tour, a tarot reading, a crinkly wrapper, a pothole, significant humidity, and some dancing to round it all out. 🔥🕺 🥘 🎉

10 years of Strut!! 💕

This weekend we celebrated a decade of Strut—and a legacy that stretches even further back.

Long before Strut opened its doors, this community built something extraordinary through Magnet and the generations of activists, healthcare providers, volunteers, and community members who believed that LGBTQ+ people deserved sexual health and wellness designed for us, by us.

Strut was built on that foundation. Over the past ten years, it has become so much more than a building. It has been a place of care, connection, advocacy, healing, joy, and belonging.

Reflecting back on the last decade, I’m reminded that our greatest achievement has never been the space itself. It has always been the people. The staff, volunteers, clients, partners, and community members who have shaped Strut into what it is today.

Together, we have expanded PrEP access, pioneered new approaches to STI prevention, deepened our commitment to trans health, opened a pharmacy, supported thousands of people on their health journeys, and created a welcoming home for our community.

As we celebrate ten years of Strut, we also honor the visionaries who came before us and the community that continues to push us forward.

Thank you for helping build this legacy—and for helping write the next chapter.

Happy 10th Anniversary, Strut.

#WeWearBlack - part two! Y staff showed up today to join in an annual initiative led by the African American Resource Network (AARN).

We wear black to bring awareness to the institutional and systemic racism and oppression of black and brown people in the United States and around the world,

We wear black to honor the struggle of those who came before us.

We wear black in unity of those who are working daily to fight injustice, prejudice and inequity.

We wear black to do our part to ensure that future generations have great opportunity and access to thrive
Join us and wear black as we stand in solidarity with and in support of our Black/African American colleagues, communities, families, and all marginalized populations.

Let’s show up, stand together, and make our support visible. #ygsf #bebelongbecome

Happy International Volunteers Day! Last night we celebrated our dedicated Board volunteers from all YGSF branches and our association. A lovely evening of connection and community to kick off the holiday season! ❤️ As our CEO shared, these 140 board volunteers contributed approximately 13,440 hours this past year- and if we convert that into “Spotify wrapped time” that’s 806,400 minutes of service! We are so grateful. @ymcasf #ygsf #bebelongbecome
