Chaelon Simpson ‘22 graduated from Harvard University last month with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and data analytics. Voted Outstanding Graduate by the Bishop Dunne administration, Chaelon’s potential was clear during his seven years at Dunne, and we watched as he thrived at Harvard these last four years.

Chaelon said his greatest achievement at Harvard was his involvement on the business staff and executive board of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation’s oldest theater company and the third oldest in the world! He was the press, marketing, and tour manager during his four years at Harvard, and was on the executive board as the accessibility and inclusion chair during his last year.

Chaelon was also deeply engaged in social justice as the vice president and recruitment coordinator for The Crimson Key Society, the university’s premier service organization.

He was voted the “most chronically online” in his senior class, reflecting his commitment to genuinely connecting with as many people as he could. You can read a candid article related to Chaelon’s online presence here: https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2025/12/18/Chaelon-Simpson-online-superlative/.

Chaelon plans to forever be a Falcon. He said, “Bishop Dunne prepared me immensely for Harvard in so many ways...Obviously, academics...but Bishop Dunne also instilled in myself a heart that’s service oriented first...Many people from school don’t consider their high schools to be a home, but I truly do. Bishop Dunne has taught me so many lifelong lessons in my years there that I can’t imagine not coming back to reunions, to contributing to alumni life, etc. I truly believe in giving back to the places that made you, because without Bishop Dunne, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Chaelon plans to stay in New York, working on the business side of the entertainment industry or in PR.

With Chaelon’s talent, dedication, and commitment to serving others, we know the sky is the limit for him!

This is what 65 looks like! Go, Falcons!

Six years ago, I sat in Emerson Hall watching the final round of the Harvard Debate Tournament. It never crossed my mind that two years later I would win that very tournament and three years later I would be taking classes in that very room.

Thank you to the man above for the blessing of Harvard. The highs were high and the lows were low but you kept me and never left me. Through the laughter, tears, lion-like screams, and memories, I’ve met some of the most brilliant students and loving friends. Words cannot do justice for the gratitude I have for God and the village around me.

I was always hesitant to include African American Studies in my “Harvard intro” because I feared invalidation. So, I am PROUD to announce that I will be pursuing a PhD in Black Studies.
