Weʻve been on a journey!

From being a consultancy business for the past nine years @chainsaw_2sa started in 2015, to investing in local projects and NGOs.

After three and a half years as an investment group - to expand our portfolio we have made the decision to set ourselves up as a holdings company as we look to build, purchase and invest in businesses and initivates that we believe in.

One week on and it’s still hard to find the words to explain the experience that was Club Nationals 2024!

Day 1️⃣
Our Manaia Measina set out to Auckland city on the Tuesday. After finding our bearings and settling in our accommodation, in the middle of the CBD our ladies found time at the end of Day 1 for a small but intimate jersey presentation. We shared our ‘why’s’ and we were blessed with some words of wisdom from our special guest Cristo Taufua ( Blackfern, Auckland ITM, Hurricane’s Poua player). Cristo spoke about commitment and sacrifice to be where we were.

Day 2️⃣
Game 1 v Western Bay Phoenix: W 3-0

Game 2 v Loa Bay: L 1-3

A solid first day of games with a convincing win in G1 and a tight tussle, resulting in a loss, in G2.

Day 3️⃣
Game 3 v Eastern VC: W 3-0

Game 4 v Shirley Blackbacks: W 3-0
Some familiar opponents in day 2 of competition and picking up our first win against the Blackbacks all season. This put us into the top 8

Day 4️⃣
Game 5 (QF) v Whakarewarewa Volcanix: W 3-2

Game 6 (SF) v Loa Bay: L 2-3

2 5 setters with our girls coming back from 12-14 down in the 5th to beat Volcanix. Unfortunately, we lost a tight and intense semi in 5 against eventual winners Loa Bay.

Final day 5️⃣
Game 7 v NZDF: L 1-3

Our girls couldn’t get out of 2nd gear for this one leaving us in 4th position overall in our division.

Shout outs🫶🏽
Our sponsors and partners. Without your financial support our ladies would have struggled to raise the funds needed for this trip.

Our families and friends for their on going support this year. Fundraising, getting players to training and games and supporting our team from the sidelines. Your support means a lot. Faafetai lava!

Last but not least, our amazing players. 👏🏽
We have worked extremely hard this year across all our Monday night games and SZ to complete at nationals. Manaia club are extremely proud of you all for representing us on the big stage. We definitely turned heads with our game play and how we carried ourselves.

Bring on next season 💪🏽

We’re sending our best wishes to the Manaia Measina women’s volleyball team as they head to Auckland to compete in the Volleyball NZ Club Championships from October 2nd to 4th at the AUT Sport and Recreation Centre. This marks the first time the Manaia Volleyball Club, formed in 2024, will compete in the Volleyball NZ club championship!

A massive thank you to the incredible sponsors who have supported the team’s journey to Nationals:
🌺Vaka Tautua
🌺Michael Stewart Real Estate - Ray White
🌺Tavendale + Partners
🌺Orion
🌺Canterbury Pasifika Volleyball Association
Your generosity has made this possible!

A special shoutout to @lock_in_03 -Nate and his team—for supplying the club’s training gear and bags, with the help of the GYB fundraiser. Fa’afetai lava, Nate!

The team want to thank everyone who contributed to the fundraising efforts along the way. Without your unwavering support, the girls wouldn’t be able to make it to Nationals!

Special thanks to the coaching and management team for your dedication— Coach Fuimaono Enoka Taufua, Assistant Coach Jo Tusa, and Team Manager Afi Tusa.

Good luck, ladies! We’re cheering you on from home and can’t wait to see you shine on the court! 💪🏽🏆
