Maybe it’s the way a song can take you straight back to a moment — a first love, a long drive, a summer that felt like it would never end. The 90s and 2000s gave us some of the greatest love songs ever written, and for one beautiful day in KK City, we got to live inside those songs together.

DayParty R&B Edition was more than a party. It was a reunion of souls who grew up on the same melodies. Strangers became friends over shared verses. The dance floor became a time machine. And for a few hours, nothing mattered except the music and the moment.

This aftermovie captures all of it — the laughter, the harmonies, the energy, the love. Every frame is a piece of KK City history.

For 4 beautiful hours, we watched our dream come to life. You danced. You laughed. You made DAYPARTY feel like home.

And then, a power surge changed everything.

We know those last 2 hours fell short. We know you deserved a proper ending. And we know an apology alone can’t undo the disappointment.

I expected good music. What surprised me was how welcoming everyone was. From the organizers and DJs to people attending for the first time, this felt more like a community than a party. Seeing locals, expats, and travelers all in one place reminded me that culture isn’t only found in museums or landmarks—sometimes it’s found on a dance floor. Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia showed me another side of Borneo that I wasn’t expecting.
