Commercial grade shooting targets that engage and challenge the shooter.

Happy 10/22 Day! 🎯

Like a lot of shooters, my first experience with firearms was plinking with a 10/22. Years later, I still enjoy the platform—whether I’m having fun at the range or competing in Steel Challenge with my Magnum Research SwitchBolt.

To celebrate 10/22 Day, I took a few different SwitchBolt setups out for some practice and a little fun, including one with an integrally suppressed barrel. One of my favorite things about the SwitchBolt platform is the variety of options and configurations available.

It’s a great rifle for a new shooter learning the fundamentals, but it’s also built to compete at the highest level. With its combination of customization, reliability, and out-of-the-box performance, the SwitchBolt is ready for almost anything you throw at it. I’ve used this platform to win multiple world and national Steel Challenge titles, so I know firsthand what it can do.

How many of you got your start with a 10/22? 👇

If you’re looking for a .22 built for fun, competition, or both, check out https://magnumresearchcustoms.com.

Get out there, have some fun, and I’ll see you at the range!

Last weekend, I competed at the 2026 IPSC Nationals at the Greater Pittsburgh Gun Club. The match featured 21 stages over three days, with creative props and unique shooting challenges that made it a fun and memorable event.

I finished 4th in the nation in PCC. The scores were tight across the top five, which made for an exciting finish and a great way to wrap up my 2026 season!

Check out the match videos, and stay tuned for more.

Sorry @ericgrauffel can’t let you get away with a clean sweep on home turf 😎

I’m going to chase this dragon for the rest of my life and make this my sole personality trait. I’m also gonna ignore the tragedy that was the rest of my match 🤪

This was a special week at Rooftop range as we hosted Eric and @jjracaza for classes and a match with their cohort of students, with major match quality stages being put together for an awesome experience and for the both of them to flex their world-class skills. @rec_alan and his top tier camera work captured epic footage of everyone 🔥🎥

I’d like to give a massive shoutout to @thyngoshooting for her exceptional work as MD for this legendary match. All credit goes to her, the Rooftop crew, and the volunteers that put everything together

@ipscworld SWS V 2026 is complete. Many firsts: first IPSC match, first level 5 match, first time competing internationally

This has been an overwhelmingly rewarding and insightful experience that any serious performance shooter needs to do. Two weeks of prep, competing, and intelligence gathering tests more than just skill and focus. There were set backs but thats how it goes in sport. It’s cool to know where I can stand relative to the world’s best

Squad 37 was immaculate 🔥 thank you gentlemen for bringing the energy that elevated an already exceptional event

Special thanks to my sponsors and coaches for supporting me on my journey, especially:

@rooftopshootingrangetx the best facility to hone my skills and gear to wear🫡
@sendthebill_ flying me out here 🐴🤝🐴
@optimalnathan for systems that have helped me be truly alive and healthy 💪
@thesammartin for the tools that are the foundation of an unbeatable mentality 🧠

Thank you to @hkimshooting and @mason_lane_shooting for their sage wisdom over the years, but especially regarding the training approach going into SWS. Grateful to have smart, high-performing people to bounce ideas with 👊🏼

I think I speak for the members of the USA modified division when I say we have a lot of revamping, introspection, and preparation to do for SWS VI. In several separate conversations, we’ve converged on improving our equipment and strategy to be competitive with the Finns - who for many years have been the pioneers and innovators in the IPSC SG arms race - as our immediate priority

The work for next world shoot has already started. I have extensive notes regarding my own points of improvement and data gathered from observing the performances of the world’s best

Modding and experimentation with my M2s this winter, training with the Philippines national team and a certain pro late 2027/early 2028, US qualifiers in 2028-2029, ending Finnish dominance of modified division in 2030.

Day 4 of @ipscworld SWS 2026 is done and this is the only stage I’m content with from today. Really tricky second half with tight positioning, tighter no shoots, and risk of running dry. There was also a hidden plate behind an activator that a lot of people in both prematch and main match forgot. Somehow being 9th on this stage is only 77% (score scaling + top guys are built different)

I was given an opportunity to try out one of the Finn’s equipment and it is tantamount to a miracle the way it returns the sight without effort and makes a 12 gauge feel like a PCC. I also then deliberately shot it with poor structure and form and it still did its job without pushing me around

Think an open Infinity vs stock Glonk. A more apt comparison would be a red dot vs an LVPO. I thought my stuff was nice but his has redefined my standard; that is to say, my stuff will be undergoing even more changes until it’s recoil goes from a kick to a fist bump

The Finns are true innovators in this field and it’s no wonder why they’ve been dominant for the longest time. Their setups are extremely forgiving and allow them to push their performance, and the essence of modified division, to its limits. There are things on their configs that I’ve never seen anywhere else

I’ve wondered why they structurally look so relaxed when they shoot and yet are able to do so at high speed, and now I know why. There isn’t anything special about their technique necessarily. Gear, for once, has a bigger priority and influence in how you play the game

I’ve been cataloguing their equipment and ideas, and that of other nations, to bring back and test. That said, I am a little surprised that these mods are relegated to a small group of people and not as widespread as I’d thought, but that could be a matter of cost and accessibility to the right resources to make the modifications. Luckily for me, I know some people that might be up for the job

Engaging a moving target with "no-shoots" in the way.

@chaumein29 and co held an excellent IPSC nationals prep match at @mission160range with the use of rule 1.1.5.5. Navigating fault lines and movement planning under this rule made some already super fun stages a lot more interesting

Sluggish and unfocused overall after a rough night (creatine can HURT btw). There were some physical cues I’ve been testing lately that have been working out really well; namely, the engagement in my wrists and palms. It is easier to discern under pressure and have direct relation to quality of index and sight picture. Main example of this was on stage 5, where I lost the dot while approaching the left target through the port

Fun squad today 😃 @makereadypt @lauriangelica_ @willdoublealpha @aidenfagundes @lance_wang98 @txfarmboyshoots @cejus @theregion7_

Last weekend, I shot the 2026 USPSA Area 6 Championships at CMP Talladega.
It was what an area match should be great stages,
an excellent staff, an awards banquet and a great prize table.
A lot of the nation’s top shooters were in attendance.
I had an outstanding weekend.
I won the PCC division.
I finished three points below the overall high score for the match out of 435 competitors.
My JP rifle and CMORE optics performed awesome.
Check out my equipment list below and reach out to me if have any questions about my setup.
This was a great test leading up to IPSC Nationals in a couple weeks.
See you on the range.

After nearly 3 years in business I’ve tested steel targets systems from nearly a dozen different manufacturers, and only one manufacturer meets my stringent criteria - @challengetargets

Use code: ROOFTOP for a discount on some of the best steel target systems in the industry.

I wanted something that would meet the following criteria:
-Rifle-rated steel that can be engaged from 30+ yards (Most manufacturers ratings is 100+ yards with .223 ie. Caldwell, Champion, etc)
-Easily transportable
-Easy maintenance and breakdown
-Can be managed by 1 person
-Can hold up to commercial range use and abuse
-Modular
-Easy to replace individual components rather than tossing the entire system when damaged
-Adjustable (for match equipment like swingers and poppers)
-High-quality competition steel solutions that can be realizably used at major-level competitions

The list goes on…

After (estimated) millions of rounds fired on their steel systems, I’m happy to report zero injuries from the use of @challengetargets steel targets.

Choose @challengetargets for your matches or recreational steel solutions 💯

The ehhhh performances from @northtexasopen

Improvement areas:

- Mid-range targets: used to be that I relax too much on long range targets, but certain set of muscles are also doing it on mid range targets and it’s sabotaging recoil management and sight behavior

- Port shifts: Dazhi made stages that made you dance around ports. Footwork for these situations need rework

- Support hand wrist: the one drawback to having grip and wrist separability is that you have to think about both, whereas some people only think about one and it’ll take care of the other. I’ve recently discovered if I engage my wrist then the grip will take care of itself, so mentally cueing this and subconsciously rewiring that will take some time

- Recalibrating backwards movement and SOTM: . While it’s generally true that going backwards is slower, seeing Sailer move backwards at an aggressive pace as if he were going forward is making me rethink what the best technique is to do that

- Morning of day 2 I did not completely adhere to my usual preparation process. Staying on task regardless of distractions is something I want to be more aware of
