Fall/late summer photo dump. Dad & Grandma rang the bell to celebrate the end of their cancer treatments, Grandma turned 90, I have another niece on the way, I turned 30, spent time with great friends and family, finished our second bred by champion Chihuahua with a 3rd and 4th very close to following suit! All of this has happened alongside the love of my life and one I get to share this journey with. We have had multiple picnics in the grass, time in the garden, gazed at the stars, felt waves in our toes and the sun on our face. 2025 has been full of a lot of really bad news but has also been full of so many glimmers of joy.

Some say they want to be a fly on the wall in certain situations. I’m getting to live that out with @shoulder_innovations. These last few weeks have been wild to say the least including an IPO on July 31, 2025. Co-Chairing the InSet Society Closed Meeting with my dear friend @cchuinard was such an honor but I also picked up some new pearls and techniques. The National Sales Meeting was a highlight and I still can’t believe I won the “Surgeon Appreciation Award.” Still not sure what I did to deserve it but thank you! What a great family to be part of. Special thanks to @ericaburk and her team for all the help with setting it all up.

We stand on the shoulders of giants as we move shoulder care and surgery into the future. This was so true at the @americanshoulderelbow Annual Meeting which afforded us great information about some of the most complex shoulder pathologies we see. It’s always so humbling to hear the old school legends of shoulder speak. congratulations to my friend @joaquin_sanchezsotelo as he becomes the next president of the ASES. I was lucky enough to give talks on shoulder instability treated with arthroscopic Latarjet and social media and today’s shoulder surgeon. We also presented a poster on muscle length after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty. As always I can’t wait to deploy some of the learnings of this week!

Disruptive. I’ve been called that since grade school when I would act up. Turns out some times disruption is a good thing. @shoulder_innovations definitely has disruptive technologies that are moving the shoulder arthroplasty space forward. Excited to be on this ride. Great couple of days in Scottsdale with a lot of bright minds discussing all things shoulder arthroplasty! Friday’s closed meeting of the InSet Society was such a unique experience with so much discussion about the nuances of this procedure. Congratulations to @peter.johnston.shoulder and @robertgillespiemd for a great agenda and outstanding leadership from @cchuinard and John Itamura. Thanks for including me. #shoulder #shoulders #arthroplasty #si #shoulderinnovations #meeting #scottsdale #innovation

What’s better than learning and wine? Great weekend in Napa at the Shoulder Innovations Shoulder Summit. We discussed it all, InSet, Goodlay, Anatomic Reverse, and work-life balance. Congratulations to Course Chair John Itamura and Course Directors @robertgillespiemd and @marylandshoulderelbow. A ton of fun and learning and of course great wine at @handwrittenwines. Next up Nashville! It was also fantastic to reconnect with Aaron Osborne who was my roommate in Cincinnati 20 years ago.
