Snippets of musical joy last weekend ✌🏿

With all the madness that is gwaaaarng around us ….. the need for balance is paramount!

I’m very choosy where I spend my energy, past experiences and the current propaganda machine have affected the world we live in!

People of colour are living in a constant state of high alert 🤷🏾‍♀️
Always having to judge who’s friend or who’s foe 👀
Is exhausting!

So the need to be in places that calm our nervous systems, ie safe spaces are essential!

I’d rather sit on my sofa and eat crisps than be in a space that feels complicit in supporting the agenda that is coming for my people 🤷🏾‍♀️

Last weekend ……. I felt safe 🙏🏿

Mr @louievega and Mr @djkennydope - Masters of Work ….. doing their ting 🙌🏿
They even dropped @sisternancy big anthem and the place went offfffffffff

Apologies no recording as the phone was deep in my bag always a good sign!

Then my sis @djmarciacarr_official closed the @ontheryefestival
She went innnnnnn ……..

And the crowd received it …..

Crying‘ just one more’ when her set had to end!

There’s goodness out there ….. you just have to choose wisely 🙏🏿

A pleasure to welcome @chammietaylor, Creative Director of @ontheryefestival, onto @firstlight.ldn this week.

We spoke about building culture through community, the importance of accessible public spaces, and how festivals can help shape a sense of place and belonging in Peckham.

The event is a perfect example of how festival’s can authentically serve the local community with storytelling and programming rooted in hyper locality. A lot of love and respect for what Chammie and the team are building. The festival is free to attend on bank holiday Monday. See you there in the sunshine! ☀️

Eeek! What a WEEK! MOBO Awards 2026 @thecooplive Manchester for the 30th Anniversary! Today also marks 1 YEAR of me being a Freelancer 🤯

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of hosting a trend and style workshop for Nike trainers from across the globe 🌏

Assisted by some very wonderful humans 🖖🏽

The Style lab session was a hands on experience created by myself alongside the talented Nike team to excite inspire and most importantly build and foster confidence in personal style.
