Some more 4x5 film shot around my favorite architecture in Fort Worth, the @kimbellartmuseum . The sunlight kept going in and out of some high thin clouds so I’m not sure what I got.😳 Fingers crossed.

Shot with my @chamonixviewcamera and a 90mm Nikkor SW lens. Red 25A filter and some Ilford FP4 film.

Went back to my usual spot to warm up my large format mechanics again.

Everything went as planned in the field - had a slight mishap developing. Looks like I have some bromide drag which can be reduced with a little bit more agitation - so I may need to reverse the jobo tank/jostle it around two or three times during the dev process, and it should get me more even development. I also have a reflection issue with the new film holders, so those are being benched for the time being. I may just go with Chamonix holders eventually.

Happy overall, I have a plan for the corrections that need to be made!

The leaves are changing, the impermanence of everything is apparent and unavoidable. Jeena and I headed up for a few days of camping to enjoy this time of year and I attempted to capture it in color on large format. I really struggle with color scans and getting it accurate so I really am in awe of all you color film guys doing this regularly. My puny brain can barely handle monochrome. Thanks to @underdogfilmlab for the quick turnaround on these negs. Interesting to note that Portra 160 says it on the top but the sheets of new rebranded US Kodak version, Ektacolor, it doesnt have it so I just have to go off the notches. I’d love to hear your workflow with color and any advise would be welcome.

Hi Friends! It’s time for another Tintype Open Studio Weekend.

It’s been a wild summer full of travel and life has been a whirlwind, but I’m back and ready to get creative in the studio this weekend. It’s late notice, but I’ve only got a few spots. Get them while you can!

WHEN:
Friday, October 9th, 3PM - 7PM
Saturday, October 10th, 10AM - 2PM & 3PM - 7PM
Sunday, October 11th, 10AM - 2PM

WHAT:
Tintypes are a photographic print of pure silver on a sheet of black metal. Each tintype is a unique piece of fine art that will last for centuries! Two session types are available:

ONE TINTYPE SESSION • $125
Bring your parents, friends, partner, children, coworkers, pet, or whomever. Max. 4 people in one tintype. I want to invite you to create art and have a meaningful experience with me. 20 minute session.

TRIPTYCH SESSION (set of 3) • $350
Bundle 3 tintypes into one session. Bring your partner for a “yours, mine, and ours” set. This session gives you options. Max. 4 people in one tintype. 60 minute session.
