Schecter Demon-7 - 7/10
Another schecter here at the shop. This guitar really was quite the buster, and had been bashed in at around the second fret, and the recess had been filled in with weird wood. It was also dirty and nasty overall. The recession in the wood had to filled in with rosewood dust and some ca glue, which really worked wonders. I then leveled the frets. On top of that the toggle switch was broken, so I soldered in a new one. I am quite proud of how far this thing has come, and I hope it goes to loving arms.

Epiphone Thundebird Bass - 8/10
This one came in a bit worse for the wear. Apparently the seller was a real character that I unfortunately didn’t get to meet, but this instrument he brought in was dirty and battered. I gave it the appropriate cleaning and repairs necessary, and got it playing like it should be. This was a fun one to work on and play, and it’s good to have some bass guitars out on the floor.

Washburn XB 100 - 7/10
This is a decent bass. Plugged in, it has a nice tone due to its precision bass style pickups, and a very playable setup. It’s very simplistic, and for some people that will probably be a good thing. The finish is also nice, a natural matte that will wear nicely. Have fun.

Schecter Omen Extreme - 8/10
Ooh look, it’s a purple guitar. And it has like inlays. That have kinda a design and look like mother of pearl or whatever. You can see that the top is wood, and you would expect wood to be brown, but it’s a nice purple color instead! Isn’t that cool? Isn’t the body shape also like radical? All jokes aside, this guitar was a breeze to set up and plays great, and plugged in has a great humbucker tone as well as a coil split option. I know someone will love this axe.

Gretsch Electromatic - 7/10
This was brought to us by a friend; Kelly from Makeshift. It was a bit dusty but otherwise in good condition. I polished up the hardware and gave it a good setup, and it’s flying high. It’s been a while since I’ve been into the shop with the purpose of being productive, simply because of other obligations taking up my time, so this was a nice way to get back into it.

Partscaster Tele - 10/10
Here it is, beautiful people: a perfect instrument. Perfection is subjective, and some people may not be as satisfied with this guitar as I am, but it really is a child of mine. It started out as a darned janky thing, with a Les Paul style neck grafted onto the body of a telecaster; quite uncouth. However, it was with the encouragement of my coworkers that I replaced the neck and pickguard, and shimmed the too-large neck pocket. I also added an aesthetic “racing stripe” which I think pairs nicely with the coral/puke pink of the guitar’s finish. It also needed a setup of course, and I took the liberty of completely rewiring the electronics to ensure longevity. I considered buying this guitar for myself, but instead decided to let it fall into the hands of someone else, who will hopefully love it as much as I do

Ibanez RGA42FM - 8/10
Here’s another shredder. This guitar had some loose parts as well as odd fret wear, so if needed some general tightening as well as a fret level. The good news is that it turned out playing great. I also took some 1000 grit sandpaper to the back of the neck to enhance the natural matte finish and maximize smoothness. Overall this was a fun guitar to work on.

Schecter C-7 Silver Mountain - 9/10
This guitar was a pleasure to work on. It was very well made, with a set neck and high quality components, and was a bit of a new experience with its seven strings and fancy fanned frets, which allow for more accurate intonation and better tension balance. The finish is quite an eye catcher as well, and is referred to as “Blood Moon”. I personally don’t need an extra string, locking tuners, or fancy frets for my humble strummings, but nevertheless I respect this instrument. It will make someone very happy and I am proud to have serviced it. Every project is a new window, a new explosion, and I grow wiser and stronger. Thank you.
