The homes of tomorrow are built today, at the prices of yesterday. Half a year ago, our first European Citizens‘ Initiative POWER TO RENOVATION ended. Now we’re launching the next one: RIGHT TO HOUSING! NOW AND FOREVER. The reason is you. While working on the first initiative, we @houseeurope.eu talked to people and organisations all across Europe. That taught us a lot about its cultures, its politics, its policies. We celebrated real wins together. We also saw our own shortcomings clearly. So this initiative goes further. It doesn’t just demand to fix what’s broken. It demands we use what’s empty and protect what we have from getting even more expensive. Because housing and climate aren’t two separate crises, they share the same root cause. But it doesn’t have to be this way. The most affordable, sustainable and fastest way out of both crises is the buildings we already have. So let’s make the system work for us, not the other way around. For housing within budgets, of people and the planet! Sign now and get involved 🫰
Because democracy is not a delivery service. (Signature collection is open from 14 September 2026 until 13 September 2027. Learn more about the initiative, its objectives and the legal proposal. All links in bio. This isn’t just us. It’s a growing network of partner organisations, coordinating the campaign in their own countries across Europe.) #houseeurope #affordablehousing #housingcrisis

Meet the extraordinary educators, curators, and designers leading this cycle’s masterclasses. Carson Chan is a curator and writer whose work examines the intersections of architecture, ecology, and the built environment. He is the Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Architecture & Design Museum Helsinki and was the inaugural director of the Emilio Ambasz Institute at The Museum of Modern Art. In his various roles, Carson has led research initiatives that expanded how environmental architecture is studied, exhibited, and understood, including the landmark exhibition Emerging Ecologies: Architecture and the Rise of Environmentalism. Across exhibitions, biennials, and editorial work, Chan’s practice explores how design engages with urgent environmental questions and evolving cultural landscapes. As a mentor for The World Around Young Climate Prize Cycle 03, Chan brings a critical and research-driven perspective on architecture and ecology, guiding a global cohort of young climate leaders shaping responses to the climate crisis. Meet all Masterclass Leaders and Mentors on our website www.youngclimateprize.org The Design Academy is supported by a grant from @obelfoundation and facilitate by our academic partner @aaschool .
