Well…..last Saturday this young man played his final college football game. It has been quite a ride, and to say I’m proud of you just isn’t enough! Every time I came to Oklahoma to watch you, someone always told me the same thing, “no one works harder than your son”. From coaches, to parents, to your teammates, everyone bragged about you. I walked around up there with my head held so high, because I got to tell people I’m your dad! I could not have asked for a better example in my oldest child. You have set the bar so high for your siblings, and showed them that no matter what happens, do not ever give up! From a major heart surgery 5 years ago that we all thought would end your football career, to you leaving NWOSU with so many athletic accomplishments, a four way starter, and a masters degree, I couldn’t be more proud of you son!! I know this isn’t the end of your story, as I know you will keep pushing to get to the next level and keep pursuing your dream of playing pro football somewhere. But when that day does ever come where you hang up that helmet, you can rest assured you have a masters degree to fall back on and you are going to be one of the best football coaches anyone has ever seen! Keep chasing your dream son, and don’t let ANYONE tell you that you can’t! I love you bud, and I am so blessed and proud to be your dad.

Unfortunately they didn’t get the win, but this dude played his ass off in “Chance Gill fashion”. Some good catches and runs, and just plain out hustle every damn play. I love watching you play the game you love son, you are so damn fun and exciting to watch. People in the stands, “that #83, he makes shit happen after he catches the ball” “83 is fast as hell”. Crazy, the same thing they would say about you in the stands in high school lol. Best part is I just sit there quietly and soak it all in!! And to hear your team mates after the game just praise you and talk about how you don’t stop, just made your old man’s heart so happy! I love you son, and I’m so damn proud of you!!! Always remember…hard work, dedication, heart, and integrity will ALWAYS get you further than size or talent in any sport but most importantly in life!! #oglilgill #slot #makesshithappen #83 #nwosu #theexample
