Specifically starting in a new industry from scratch!!

Somehow things come together but she ain't pretty.

I'd love to hear from other owners/founders in Edinburgh who have advice or can relate to the chaos and self doubt that comes with starting anything new.

I'd actually love to have a wee networking night at Claws and Pause and we can all celebrate and weep together 🫶🏼.

Scotland is known for Scotch whiskey. Louisville for Bourbon. But award-winning bartenders have opened agave-focused drinking halls in both places. What does it mean when Mezcal finds its way into whisk(e)y country?

Agave Road Trip is a critically acclaimed, award-winning podcast that helps gringx bartenders better understand agave, agave spirits, and rural Mexico. This episode is hosted by Lou Bank with special guest John Douglass of Pretty Decent, an award-winning Mezcal-focused cocktail bar and a boutique plant shop in Louisville, Kentucky, with wisdom from Rachel Bailey Palumbo of Chancho, a just-shuttered agaveria in Edinburgh, Scotland, and sister to the award-winning Hey Palu.

We are excited to announce this year's line-up of expert judges for our Ready, Steady, Mix cocktail competition at our Edinburgh show next week!

First up is 'Queen of Agave' Rachel Bailey-Palumbo, who runs two of Edinburgh's most exciting bars; Chancho and Hey Palu. Winning DRAM Awards and Edinburgh Bartender Awards 'Cocktail of the Year', Rachel surely knows how to judge a well-made cocktail and will be keen to see how the contestants use their mystery box 🍸

If you're keen to take part, all you have to do is sign up on the day! See you soon 👋
