WHAT A GIFT!

When online friends and real life friends come together to share their love of running and their love for you -
I FEEL SO LOVED!

As the video clips rolled into my DMs, I smiled from ear to ear. Every one of these people are truly amazing human beings and I blessed to have them in my life.

It's said over and over again, but it really is true. There is truly nothing like the love and support you receive from the running community.

I am so grateful for everyone who ran 5.5 miles virtually with me to celebrate my 55th birthday. Thank you for making my birthday so special and filling my days with love and support.

What’s more insane? Running for no reason or running to avoid Gary? Jury’s out. Either way is fine by me. But hot tip don’t let Gary catch you. 😬 #runningcommunıty #crazyrunner #lawyerdoeshealth #runningover40 #cheaperthantherapy

Come celebrate Global Running Day with some friends and I!! What are you doing for Global Running Day?

How are you celebrating Global Running Day?

When I asked some of my running friends from all over the world how they planned to celebrate Global Running Day, here's how they answered the question.

Follow these amazing runners for a daily dose of running inspiration, motivation, and support.

"How are you celebrating Global Running Day?"

@franchielfit - "I'm hiking."

@genelynjaye - "I'm training for my 10th half marathon."

@brittb.the.dpt - "I'm strength training."

@sassyshelbsfitness - "I'm running along the river."

@runningrietje - "I'm running on the beach

@runwithnicc - "I'm running in the mountains."

@_brianahhmarie - "I'm running to the potty."

@cassie.b.runs - "I'm running with my dog."

@chanelsheri - "I'm running vacation miles."

@emkayembe - "I'm running a 10K."

@run_dmt - "I'm running a 5K with my friend."

Global Running Day encourages everyone to celebrate the day by moving your body in whatever way you can. The goal is to move - however and whatever.

So, what activity do you have planned to celebrate moving your body on Global Running Day?

Listen, listen. Listen… there are legal ways to take care of crazy and illegal ways. Running is legal. Let’s leave it at that. #running #runningcommunity #marathontraining #cheaperthantherapy

I do not care how friendly and well-trained you think your dog is when you let them off the leash. All dogs look like Cujo to a runner. I say this as a dog mom of two large rescues.

As a runner, what is your top horror movie?

This morning, I ran a 5K during prime school traffic, but there were less kids on bikes and electric scooters this morning. Maybe it was too hot or maybe they were all dressed up for award ceremonies and their parents drove them to avoid sweating. Idk, but I was grateful for less sidewalk traffic.

This is the last week of school and then I'll have my sidewalks and trails back. There is nothing as scary as an e-scooter sneaking up behind you without warning. Y’all, my heart is already under severe distress while running. I do not need a startle from a stealth e-scooter.

Although my chances of cardiac arrest by a sneaky e-scooter may drop next week, the heat may still kill me.

This morning, I ran a different route - one with a lot more shade - some solid advice from my friend, @christina.fit_. I also found myself sprinting to the shade, like @chanelsheri does.

Between dodging fewer e-scooters and my runner friends’ tips, I shaved a minute off my finish time.

3.1 miles
Finish Time 36:57
Ave Pace 11:53

I know. I know.

Balearic sunsets.
Mediterranean everything.

A life that looked like a movie
and sometimes felt like one too.

But my grandmother was my
best friend and I watched my
daughter become a mother.

Something shifted that no amount
of olive oil and sea breeze could
fix especially considering Covid times.

You can’t FaceTime presence.
You can’t schedule the moments #like this, that matter.

I wasn’t willing to miss them anymore.

Moving back wasn’t giving up on a dream.
It was choosing a bigger one.

Europe will always have my heart.
My family has everything else.

Being a grandmother is next level
In a way I could never have predicted.

My grandmother gave me that gift.
Now it’s my turn.

Some seasons are about the adventure.
This one is about the roots with a side
of adventure.

Have you ever made a choice that looked
crazy from the outside but felt like coming home?

Let me know in the comments.
