🎧 UNDERGROUND FRIDAYS: R&B EDITION | GIRLS LOVE R&B

This week’s Underground Album of the Week is But I Want You to Know Me by Brooklyn native Estephanie @estephleaveamessage 🍂

Think acoustic instrumentals, airy vocals, dreamy harmonies, and the perfect soundtrack for a slow Sunday morning. From the magical guitar on “NOTEBOOK” to the jazzy production on “Easy 2 Feel” and the rock-inspired outro “Tastemakers,” Estephanie creates a sound that feels intimate, soulful, and intentional.

If you love Cleo Sol, Snoh Aalegra, Steve Lacy, or Solange, this project deserves a spot in your rotation. ✨
Independent artists continue to push boundaries and create worlds of their own, and Estephanie is an artist to keep on your radar.

🎶 Go listen to But I Want You to Know Me.

💬 Which song are you adding to your playlist? Drop it in the comments!

Follow Girls Love R&B for Underground Fridays, album reviews, and your next favorite R&B discovery. Don’t sleep on the underground!

Norah’s World is stepping fully into her own world.
With her latest EP, worldgirl, she takes the sounds and influences that have made her a name to know and created something unpredictable, and completely original. She’s found a way to utilize an array of influence from various genres to create an EP that never feels like experimentation just for the sake of it. There’s intention behind every second you hear.

That energy came to life at @thesultanroom in Brooklyn for the worldgirl-EP release party, where the music, her community, and Norah’s presence all came together in a way that felt bigger than a celebration of a new project. With support from @adrianisntadub and @mrleemister, this was a glimpse inside the world she’s been building.

We got to experience a new era be introduced in its entirety and there’s so much to unpack.

Read our full review on Norah’s World, worldgirl, and her release party now via the link in our bio ⭐️

Last Sunday felt like stepping into the battlefield and the sanctuary at the same time. 🌌
R.I.S.E held space for the fight and the healing, the truth and the tenderness. ✨️
Grateful to rise, speak, and bloom beside this brilliant ensemble. 👑

Our daring cast took to the Stageworks Theatre stage and delivered a quality night of fun, reflection, and entertainment!

We saw poetry, joined in improv games, got down on the dance floor, were serenaded, and heard from some of the most prominent artistic voices in our community today.

Thank you everyone who joined in from the audience! Thank you to the Stageworks crew and to Lance @lance_markeith for bringing us all together.

Until next time!

Will we see you there?

What would happen when the city’s best poets put together a show of their pieces?

Live at Grand Central brings some of the best parts of the open mic scene and builds a production like you’ve never seen before. Poets get 10 minutes to put on their own production. The show is then hosted and weaved together by actors performing scenes, monologues and improv games.

With all new poetry, fun improv games, scenes and featured performances from some of Tampa’s greatest talent such as @_ivysunflower @anunspokenpoet @dawsontheartist , @reg.blk, @chaneylaine and more! This is where poetry meets theatre in a high-energy performance! Hosted at @stageworkstampa
