@changeclothesdublin are a really great organisation that make it easy to use yarn and other craft materials that already exist! Thank you for sending me a pack, it is absolutely ideal for my @knitforwildlife residency 🐢 (gifted)

Some more 🟩🟩🟩🟩 made with supplies from @changeclothesdublin for the St. Bridget's Cloak art project organised by @woman.in.wool . I got a green and purple bespoke pack, it is fabulous value. I did add in some purples and fluffy pieces for the square representing the Burren, flowers and mosses in the cracks. I also used the ends of some Cushendale and a lime green wool. These are such fun.

Reuse starts at home, and social enterprises across the country bring it to local communities!

Some of the most powerful reuse happens in our own wardrobes and fridges. It could be rewearing that old jumper with a different outfit than usual to get more use out of it, or finishing the leftovers before heading out for the weekly shop.

Some of our members are doing exactly this at a much bigger scale, bringing more people in, raising awareness and making an impact in their communities.

@changeclothes, amongst other things, takes donated clothes and turns them into whole new outfits. Watch the video to see an example.

@foodcloud does the fridge-clearing on a national scale. They redistribute good surplus food to family resource centres, homeless services, Meals on Wheels groups and more, where it becomes meals, pantry shelves and sharing tables.

The principle is the same: nothing useful should go to waste, whether it’s a jumper or a jar of pasta sauce.

What’s your favourite reuse habit at home? Tell us!

I popped in to @changeclothesdublin earlier to drop off some donations, and as usual I failed to leave empty handed 🫣

I had brought a little list of craft bits I needed from the scrap store for a couple of current projects, but I certainly left with more than I planned. One of the best places to visit on a sunny Sunday 😎

Received a lovely bespoke pack from @changeclothesdublin with as much green wool as possible for #biggreensquares project. Who else remembers Tivoli spinners?? And look, for best results wash in soap flakes.....box of Lux Soap Flakes anyone ??? Destined to big green squares for St. Bridget'sCloak and Hannah , who is @woman.in.wool. Possibly with some small splashes of purple heather and some loopy or bobbly white sheep..who knows. Thanks to @betweensongandstitch for putting the pack together.....and highlighting that green wool was available. Look up @changeclothesdublin if you need to add to your wardrobe or need crafting supplies for all kinds of big or small projects.

Print mixing made simple: 3 rules to pair clashing prints!

Mixing prints can feel overwhelming, but it doesn't have to mean total chaos. Here’s the formula I use to combine completely different prints.

1) Find the common thread: Choose patterns that share at least one key colour (here, it’s that bold primary red linking the floral coat and tartan skirt).

2) Anchor with solids: Pull that shared colour out into your solid base pieces—like a top or bag—to tie the whole look together without feeling busy.

3) Play with scale & texture: Pair a small-scale graphic print with a larger geometric or plaid, then layer in subtle textures (like a peep of sequin skirt at the hem) to add depth.

Save this post for the next time you’re standing in front of your wardrobe wanting to mix things up!
