We didn’t make it out to @supercrawl this year, so here’s a throwback to 2024! We did mobile eye tracking @beatlab_mcmaster during a live dance performance, with @chantalcarrillo on tap and @jayypudwell doing house dance. The dot is where we were looking 👀

Hope everyone had fun this weekend! #supercrawl #hamont #livelab #eyetracking

May 23rd 2026 | Adult Program Showcase
"VIEW FROM THE WINGS"

Still feeling the energy from last weekend! ⚡️⚡️While wait for the official video from the show, here's a quick set of clips from the perspective from the side stage.

Big thank you, congratulations and love to all the dancers who took to the stage! You were all incredible!✨️ And as well as the choreographers, staff, families, friends and community supporting these artists making and doing cool $%@₩!

***
Special gratitude to the guest studios, companies and artists for joining us in the vision to connect different adult (amateur, emerging & established) dancers/dance programs in our city. We hope to make this a regular (annual) thing, and connect even more dancers, programs and companies who create spaces for artistic empowerment, social connection, and community building through dance education. So.. thank you, and see you soon.

Reminiscing on the day @kahawidance, led by @santeesmith, joined us to share a sneak peek of Continuance: Immersive Commemoration, a powerful performance honouring survivors and celebrating Indigenous creativity through movement, memory, and story ✨

We even had the chance to motion capture parts of the performance 👀 watch until the end to see some of the data 😍

Thank you for sharing your storytelling and dance with us 🙏🏼The premiere is coming May 2026 and we can’t wait!

✨Slackline science ✨

We were curious about where we look when we slackline, so we used our mobile eye tracking technology with @beatlab_mcmaster to find out 🤓👀

LIVELab PhD student @emilywood2 always stares at the end of the line… and research shows that focusing on a distant point could help motor control by stopping conscious interference with the automatic processes that guide movement 🧠

This was a few months ago, but I’m still so grateful for it. Thank you to Josh and Crystal for creating spaces like @73til.infinity, @steelcitydmd, and for everything you pour into this community.

Major shout-out to the incredible band!!! It was a pleasure dancing along side you.

Huge congrats to Dr. Chantal Carrillo on an awesome PhD defense! 🎓

During her PhD, Chantal led a hiphop competition study here in the LIVELab, where she found that the more in-sync a group was, the higher the judges’ scores 🕺💃🏼

Chantal is now off to start a postdoc at the university of Ottawa. We’ll miss you, come back and visit! 💙
