Celebrating life, love, and the true self of karaoke across Tokyo and Little Tokyo in one week and two time zones. Accomplished to have friends and family more than anything else. Accomplished to have completed the @nerdnitereal karaoke trilogy (LA, SF, Tokyo) and the Game Club special video game karaoke block for the early birthday at, of course, @lounge_ohjah ! As if there was any doubt. And yet, the Japan trip this year is only beginning! As a fun preview, come this fall we’ll get to see how I quite literally reinvented karaoke.

This year had good laughs, good friends, good concerts and good cheer through tough times. Here’s to a great 2026 - all the TikTok astrologers say it’s going to be my year and I choose to believe them! Also what a blessing to have so many friends that Instagram won’t even let me tag all of them. Sorry @alexisbradby and @will_in_the_park!

(Not pictured: good babies. Y’all have pretty lit babies. Thank you for letting me hold them and hang out with them).

We are approaching the end of our first year as a club. We are not a big industry company, we are a girl, her real black cat named JIJI, and a group of people who care about the art of sharing and supporting creations and creators.

JIJI’s Jazz Club is an LA based grassroots community that focuses on uplifting artists and appreciators by creating authentic and accessible experiences with Jazz at the heart of it all. We try to bring you affordable events that leave you feeling a sense of belonging like our tea lounge, vinyl cafe, jazz club, and open jam.

We are always collaborating with our peers and often visiting other cities outside of LA to throw benefit shows in support of the local cities community and art programs. We hope to see you at one of our events soon. Thank you for all your support! See you, cool cats. ✨🎷🐈‍⬛

The year (so far) in the game club and games around the place! Between nerding it up with friends, Atlus, Nintendo, Netherealm, kicking it as Kiryu with Donald, punching it in Osaka like DK, buying a Switch 2 on my honeymoon, GDC, TwitchCon, and other geekery, seems some of my digital fantasies have come to life.

My two-year West Coast clerking odyssey (and exile from Instagram) is over. These are some snapshots of some (but not all) of the amazing and generous people, including my family, who supported me through that journey in Portland (best pizza city in America) and Los Angeles (best Chinese food in America). I’ll see you all in New York! PC to @jijisjazzclub for that picture of me and @chantelwhitt.
And no that is not my baby.

Still not quite sure how to measure a year, but this last one included: 110 books (mostly romance/smut); 38 flights; 15 concerts; 3 weddings; 1 cross-country road trip; plus a new job/apartment/city and countless treasured memories. Looking forward to being another year older and seeing what this next year has in store. With any luck and some good planning, hopefully it ends with me living in another country.
