I love a micro-adventure - especially when it combines bikes, nature and the people I love. 🌄

I had the joy of test riding this S-Works Epic World Cup from @chapmanspeakcycles for the weekend. I am looking into a mountain bike upgrade and I have certainly been influenced!
I have really enjoyed learning more about mountain bikes - this specific model has a unique race-focused set up with 110m travel at the front and 75mm at the back. This means that it climbs like a dream and I also found it super capable on the rough stuff! 🐎
I think it’s NB to test bikes before you buy so I am looking forward to testing out some of the @specializedza Epic 8s and 9s as well which have more travel.

Choosing a bike is personal and luckily for me I have pro advice. If you’re keen to test out any bikes or rent one for a weekend adventure like me, chat to Gerry the resident MTB expert at Chapman’s Peak Cycles 😌🤝

These pics really do show why I love racing bikes. 🥹👐

April memories of the Otto1890 Weekend Warrior Grabouw @weekend_warriormtb ! I had so much fun at this two day stage race earlier this year. @redcherryevents_za somehow always managed to blend good humour, fun and competitiveness into one event! Even the pouring rain could not keep us from enjoying ourselves and hitting the trails. 🌧️

I learnt so much racing @magan_hanekom and @callysilberbauer. It was an extra treat to finish 3rd on GC after the two days. 🥉

This event lit a spark in me to want to race more mtb and I look forward to this challenge when I am back out there. 🚵

The next @weekend_warriormtb is in October in Lourensford and I have no doubt it will be another weekend to remember. Use my code layla10 for an entry discount. 🪩💃

When you say yes to @redcherryevents_za insta360 being on board for the drama of this year’s @grav_duro 😅📹

This was such a fabulous race back in May. I had so much fun racing my @specializedza Crux from @chapmanspeakcycles with @magan_hanekom. 👯‍♀️ This was also one of my first races wearing my new custom race kit from @enjoy.za .😍
The route ended on the infamous Hans Kop mast climb and as you can see…I was properly finished! 🥵

@redcherryevents_za events are always something to look forward to. They have another 2 day mtb race coming up in October - @weekend_warriormtb in Lourensford. If you’d like a sneaky entry discount you can use my code Layla10 😉

As @shaun_peters_mc said, at the finish we had the best support and I really felt that in @natsrosee and @paigegoldieee who made us feel so special when we crossed the line. 💜💗 It’s so important to support each other.

It’s week 4 post-shoulder op for me and damn.. I’m missing riding my bike outside in nature. Excited to get back on the trails SOON SOON even if it results in almost falling off bridges 🤦‍♀️🍃

Thank you to all my support who made this day possible. I love doing what I do, and you helping me do it makes it even better. 🫶

Nothing quite like that race morning stoke! Vicariously living through my race vlogs while recovering from surgery. 🤕 What a fabulous day this was at @grav_duro back in May!! ❤️‍🔥😊 Can’t wait to be getting hyped for the races again soon!🥹 @redcherryevents_za @weekend_warriormtb is coming up on 17-19 October, bleak not to be able to race but maybe @magan_hanekom will stand a chance without me there hehe. 😘 HMU for a lil entry discount if you want to challenge her.😋
