Half way check in!!

So we’re half way through our emotional support group readalong hosted by @instabooktours for the 3 book showdown from @rebeccayarros

No tears yet, but we’ve stopped on an epic cliff hanger. I’ll hold my judgement on the book as a whole until the end, but it’s not got me by the heartstrings like The Last Letter did just yet!

I had to come and take a picture of this book at my local WWII RAF airbase, it seemed only right!

Are you a sucker for a tear jerker book? Or do you want your reads less emotional?

⭐️ AUGUST TBR ⭐️
Now I never do a whole months TBR but I want to see if I can hold myself to read as many of these as I can. I got a lot of challenges I’m falling behind with and a few of these fit the bill. What I’m reading and how they fit:

⭐️Redeeming 6 - Chloe Walsh : a buddy read with @molly_simmsss (I have the physical but it’s at my mums)
⭐️The Woman From Bookclub - Carrie Hughes : August pick for @bookandpuddingyattendon and also ticks off this months Buzzword for club/group in title
⭐️ The Pumpkin Spice Cafe - Laurie Gilmore : Gumball prompt of door on the cover and G in author name
⭐️ Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas : #gramgirlsbookclub pick for this month (it was my pick 🥳)
⭐️ The Tattooist of Auschwitz - Heather Morris: @yorkshire_born_and_bookish pick for me as my gumball prompt
⭐️ The Death Cure - James Dashner : series continuation
⭐️ Eeny Meeny - MJ Arlidge : monthly buddy read pick with @hannaho_030_
⭐️ The Wedding Party - Cathy Kelly : a chapter a day and a wedding present from @beccajbooks so reading to coincide with my 3rd wedding anniversary (better late than never)
⭐️ When I Was Ten - Fiona Cummins : buzzword cover pick for damage on the cover
⭐️ How to Be A Footballer - Peter Crouch : buzzword for occupation in the title

And that’s it, wish me luck I’m gunna need it!!!

DONT SHOUT AT ME!!!! Yes I know I’m extremely late to the party with these, I’m a bad reader and I hold my hands up. GUILTY AS CHARGED.
I’ll get to these guys at some point soon, but my question to you is, who should you have read by now? Any mega authors you’re embarrassed to say you haven’t picked up yet?
I do own books by all these authors, and as we know, collecting books and reading books are two completely different hobbies.

The Sea Between Us - @charlottekrasniqi.author
#adpr #gifted
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Synopsis: She never meant to fall for a famous musician.
He never expected to find the one person who could bring love into his world.
Elizabeth Marlowe’s quiet coastal village is her peaceful place. The last thing she expects is that Theo Masters, world-famous musician, will crash into that peace, shaking it forever with his chaos.
What begins in secret, becomes a love that neither of them know how to control. Theo is determined, obsessive and certain of one thing.
He wants Elizabeth.
But life has a cruel way of tearing through what they build, leaving both of them broken and questioning whether they can survive it.
As darkness closes in, Elizabeth and Theo must face a truth that will change their lives forever. A truth that will either break them or bind them together in a way neither can imagine.
An emotional romance about healing, resilience and the kind of love that refuses to let go.
You have to break before you can heal.
Review: This review is a very very long time coming. For transparency I signed up to get an ARC way before publication date in March and had all intentions of reading it as soon as I got it. It was the right book but at the wrong time. Fast forward a couple of months, a pool in sunny Greece, and this was the perfect book at just the right time.
I loved the journey of our two MCs, to say it was a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions might be downplaying it a tad. Give me a nobody and a famous falling in love anyday of the week. There are trigger warnings (that are also spoilers) so if you are worried about anything maybe check them out before hand.
This is book one in The Elements series, book 2 being released the end of September called The Fire Within Us. Both available on Kindle Unlimted which is an absolute WIN.
Thanks Charlotte for writing such a great book, congratulations!!
I've had a lovely day going for brunch, seeing the goats, then for a walk - now I'm home with Gracie 🐈‍⬛️ and I'm going to get reading! Perfect 🥳
I hope I've tagged everyone who gifted me a book. I also got a gift card from my work colleagues and that has quite aptly gone towards a new bookcase which will be delivered this week and I can't wait because I've had my eye on it for over a year, so I will share that when it arrives. 📚
#birthdaygirl👑 #chapter38 (eeek) #bookstack #birthdaybooks #itsmybirthday and I'll read if I want to! 💕
The Killer in Room Five by @samhollandbooks
This is very special even the fifth time around. We have buddy read each one with these group of ladies @jojoreads_50 @real_mother_booker and @lucy.readsbooks I just love reading with them- gift messages- voice notes- conversation- connection. We even arranged this before it came out. I never preorder but I had to with this one...
Sam Holland is great at psychological thrillers, building up suspense, snappy, fast pace chapters that you had to keep turning the page to the very end. All the signs of a great book ... No spoilers as i want you to enjoy it for the very first time yourselves- Have you read it? Lets talk Sam Holland books? Or Lucinda Scarr?
*****Bookclub appreciation post*****
Just a quick post from me on this super sunny bank holiday!! I’m in a couple of bookclubs, one in real life, and two on here and I just wanted to share my love for them. The OG online bookclub #gramgirlsbookclub set up by @rhirhireader has made me some friends for LIFE!!! I dunno where I’d be without that group to be honest. Also @bookshelfraiders for making me read books I’ve had on my shelf for literally YEARS. I don’t always join in the chats but they’re there when I need some inspiration or a slump is imminent. And finally @bookandpuddingyattendon which is my in real life book club once a month. I haven’t liked everything we’ve read, but the conversations we have had for every book have been so enjoyable. And there’s cake so it’s a no brainer.
Are you part of any bookclubs? If you’re not or don’t know where to look I highly suggest having a look at @bookandpuddingclubsuk and seeing if there’s one near you!
