Brown eyes, but make it bookish 🤎📚

Thank you @stephsbookcorner2 for tagging me in the eye color book challenge! I thought brown would be easy… until I actually started searching my shelves. 😂 Finding truly brown books was harder than expected!

I used to hate having brown eyes and wished they were a different color, but I’ve grown to appreciate them so much more. Now they remind me of all the warm, cozy things I love—chai tea, chocolate, autumn leaves, and of course, books. 🫖🍫🍂🤎

I chose to highlight WW2 Memories of Love & War by my family member, Robert B. Monge. This book shares the stories of local men and women who sacrificed so much in the fight for freedom, while honoring the lives and legacies of those from Tazewell County who served — including the ones who never made it home. It’s a meaningful reminder that history is deeply personal and that every name has a story worth remembering.

The last part of my series for teacher appreciation week!

Thank you to all of the people who joined me in my posts for Teacher Appreciation Week! Teachers are amazing and are such heroes!

Without teachers (or this community) I don’t know if I would have the love of reading that I do! I had some people who were close to me, who I won’t be naming, who for the longest time made me feel very stupid and made me HATE reading. I want to thank the teachers who kept my love of reading alive because without you, I wouldn’t be here and I wouldn’t have met some of the most amazing people!
