September 2 officially marked year three. 🥹 These past three years have been the best. I’ve made so many incredible memories, met so many brilliant people, experienced so many things I never could’ve dreamed of, and—in the pages of my favorite books—lived so many lives. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the love, support, and kindness you’ve shown me. I’m here because of you, and I’m so, so grateful to be part of this beautiful community. I can’t wait to see what year four has in store. 🥰

Lot’s to recap in this caption!!

This year I’ve trying to branch out a bit more with my reading. It might not seem like it since I am *mostly* reading the same types of books, but I’m trying to make a more of an effort to read some different genres and new to me authors.

IMMORTAL CONSEQUENCES and I.V. Marie are both. This book has been hyped from day 1 and I knew I wanted to read it, but also knew there was going to be a sequel and thus would have to wait to read them together (because I am bad at remembering world building).

So I waited until like a few weeks before RUINOUS ENDS released to start the audio (also since I was invited to the event for RE’s release) and had a great time listening. I rarely read fantasy anymore and while I still struggled a bit with the world building I really enjoyed my time with this story.

I’m so glad I listened to the audio (thank you @prhaudio) and IT WAS SO GOOD!! There are 6 POVs in this book (which I do think is too many but that’s personal preference since I like tighter stories) BUT there are 6 narrators which is amazing. I never had to guess whose POV I was in if I wasn’t able to make it to a chapter break and they all were PERFORMING!!

I also was able to attend GetUnderliend event celebrating RUINOUS ENDS which was so much fun and I got to hang out with @natalies_all_booked and @bookishlybritt which was really fun since they live in NYC and live across the country!! Shoutout to @chaptersofjordan for planning a 10/10 event!!

I listened to RUINOUS ENDS and enjoyed the wrap up to these characters, but I’m still hyped there is a bit more with the novella which features Wren’s and August’s meeting which I’m hyped about!!

We spent the BEST time with @randomhousekids at @officialmoonlightrollerway celebrating everyone’s FAVORITE series 💖 Sweet Valley Twins 💖 by the wonderful Francine Pascal that originated in 1986 . The Sweet Valley Twins books now lives on for future generations with wonderful graphic novels series 😍

Thank you so much for the invite @randomhousekids . I loved sharing a little bit of my childhood with Harlow not only through the love of reading Sweet Valley Twins but through skating and making memories with friends .

I had such a great time running around the @getunderlined That Which Feeds Us event, asking what would my fellow influencers do if they got trapped on an Island without a way to communicate with the outside world or any help at all….and I think a lot of us aren’t going to make it 😂, and you know what that’s okay!

Some of the common answers were cry, find sustenance, make a fire, find shelter, but the author @kealakendall brought up a great point…what if it was a HAUNTED island! So you definitely need to wait to the end to listen to her answer and read the book That Which Feeds Us so you can learn what to do and what not to do on a paranormal island, and how to find your missing twin too!

That Which Feeds Us is currently out now and available so run don’t walk!!! Make sure to bring some Hawaiian Tea Leaves and Salt for protection!

I had the best time celebrating @kealakendall and her YA Hawaiian gothic novel, That Which Feeds Us, this past weekend with @getunderlined, @sunnie, and @oops_art_happens!

It was a blast to sip lemonade, DIY a sugar scrub, and yap about books with new friends. I loved how intimate the event felt and I can’t thank Team Underlined enough for the invitation!!

I can’t wait to finish this book, but I will say I’m gonna stick to reading it while the sun is out 🫣 I was nervous I’d be put off wholly from persimmons, but I’ve actually got a hankering for them now.

This past weekend I was invited to celebrate THAT WHICH FEEDS US with @getunderlined @sunnie and @kealakendall

It was such a fun event where we made DIY body scrubs with @oops_art_happens and got to chat with Keala about her book THAT WHICH FEEDS US which is a YA Hawaiian Gothic Horror (possibly the first of its kind?). The venue was STUNNING and matched the vibe of the book perfectly. I wish I took more photos bc mine do not do it justice. Plus it was fun to see friends and meet some new bookish people who live closeish to me!

Y’all know I am not a horror girlie, but I wanted to give THAT WHICH FEEDS US a chance before the event and it’s a really great listen so far!! It’s such an immersive read and the audiobook is very well done (thank you to @prhaudio for the gifted copy) I even listened to some of it on a run which is always high praise from me since anything that distracts me from the fact that I am running is needed. I had to stop listening when it started to get dark and I was alone bc it is creepy (but in a good way so far). And can we talk about how gorgeous the cover is?!!

Keala Kendall was so sweet and we chatted a bit about superstitions bc there are some mentioned in the book and I love hearing about different superstitions bc my grandma is extremely superstitious.

I absolutely adore Keala Kendall’s That Which Feeds Us, so celebrating its release with the Underlined Team at Grass Room on Saturday was magical. ✨ I chatted with so many bookish friends, and we made body scrubs with the fantastic Oops! Art Happens Team. The scrubs smelled amazing, and we put them in the cutest That Which Feeds Us-themed jars. Grass Room was a beautiful venue filled that fit That Which Feeds Us perfectly.
