Gloria a Dios!

My heart is so full, this trip has brought me closer to God in so many ways. I was a little nervous and anxious before going on this trip but once I got there I felt like I was right where I needed to be. I was able to give all of my worries and doubts to God and I felt his overwhelming love and presence in a way I never have before!

Being in the Dominican was such a humbling and eye opening experience. Children and adults were struggling to get their next meal but despite everything, they had so much joy in their hearts. I'm so grateful that I got to meet so many amazing people and serve others. This experience has been one I will never forget and I cannot wait to go again✝️

This is my 6th mission trip and somehow I get something different every time I go. Every year we pick one word to better explain our experience on the trip to those who might ask, and this year my word for the week is BOLD. Going into this week I didn’t have a plan or something I wanted to get out of the mission trip but God definitely had a plan for me. I got pushed out of my comfort zone constantly, and while I am normally quite introverted, God called me to be bold and more sociable. When you are bold in the plans that God has for you, He will work in ways you never thought were imaginable. Never in my life did I think I would be leading two worship nights, a mixer, and a talent show (I had lots of help), let alone preaching in front of my peers. I encourage everyone else to take the next step and be bold in their faith, maybe that is just living out you new faith, or maybe that’s taking on a leadership role, but whatever it is God will receive all the glory and you will bear fruit because of it!
